I'm currently gaming a Ryoma Special Tuning 10.5 with an LY-02 shaft and am delighted with it. Trouble is, swing speed is creeping towards the limit suggested by Ryoma and I'm looking at options to replace it.

Specifically looking at a couple of options:

1) Romaro 460hx - Managed to demo this in a shaft that was way too light and whippy and was hitting balloons with it. Then borrowed my buddy's one shafted with a Diamana X 70x (a bit too much shaft for me) and ball flight was low and had trouble launching it. Thinking a suitable shaft should provide a nice penetrating ball flight.

Also noticed that they have a HI Cor version. Does this come with a similar maximum swing speed?

2) Ryoma Maxima - Haven't hit it yet, but have read good things about it and don't think I can go wrong with another Ryoma.

3) Callaway X Hot Pro - This was a surprise. Had a Callaway launch event at my club and was getting pretty good results with this. Shorter than my Ryoma, but I'd say nearly as forgiving. Could be a nice lower-cost option.

I'm a 14 h'cap and swing speed's at around 100-105 depending on the day with moderate tempo. Carry ~230 meters and misses tend to be a hook when I release the club too early.

Any suggestions on what's a good way to proceed?

Cheers

i always have to recommend the kamui works ray. if i wasn't gearing up for tournament golf i'd still be gaming my hi-cor version!

George Spirits 450 should be in there as well. It's worth a shot trying the T.388 as well.

Sorry Chris. Have to disagree with you here rather strongly. I think for someone who has been comfortable with the D1 and the ST at that, its hard to see him being equally comfortable with the T.388. I really would not recommend the T.388 to most altough I know it seems to have been the flavor here for quite a while but if you look at the handicaps of those who like it, they tend to be single. A very different proposition to mid cappers and social golfers like me.

To the TS, if you really do want to demo the T.388. The local dealer has this for demo.

460hx plus attas3 is a winner for me. Attas is a high launch low spin unit.

Just saw your post on the Romaro and have to agree with your observations on the head. Has really stood out from my limited time testing it. Now just trying to sell off my Special Tuning to fund a purchase...

Couple of shafts I have in mind - DJ-6s, LY-02. Looking primarily at carry distance since the fairways in my part of the world don't roll much anyway. Any idea on how the Attas would compare to these 2 shafts?

Thanks!

IMO the SYard is for someone who is for a low handicap player with a fast swing speed. You need all the carry you can get. Although it looks very nice, it's not the club for the majority player.

My point exactly!

If you get along with the LY-02 I'd keep it and use it in the next head you choose. I also think you have the SS for the T.388 but if you like/need the

forgiveness of the Ryoma then not the best choice.

Unless you want a Hi COR the D1 Premia is hard to beat.

HiCOR = RomaRo
