Posted March 28, 201311 yr Just finished shooting some pics of the new Emperor forged iron from George. Its not typically the look I personally prefer but I can't help but admire the workmanship and CNC. Quite the beauty!
March 28, 201311 yr Is the block filled and a solid mass or hollow? If solid, I imagine non sweet spot hits could feel really really bad given then very deep cavity design.
March 28, 201311 yr VERY good picture skills again, Tario. I don´t actually mind the design or golden insert, but I´m sure some guys will. The CNC work George does is second to none.

March 28, 201311 yr Author Considering there is gold in it I think it looks pretty good. Look beyond the gold badge and the rest of the design is really nice. The target is the premium and older golfer who would go for high end Honma and Majesty.... in this case I think the Emperor looks better.
March 29, 201311 yr Author Rigged up a little soft box at home using my tablet as a light! The milling detail is very nice in this shot. You can not only see all the milled steeps and grooves around the back cavity but even how the back face is milled flat. A lot of detailed work.
March 29, 201311 yr Looks like honma warmed over. I know I've said this 100 times before, but you have to wonder whether or not some of these iron makers use focus groups to check their reaction to the design of a club BEFORE going to market with them. I'm guessing if you put 50 golfers in a room and showed them these irons, 49 of them would be like WTH?. Maybe they are selling to that 1 in 50?? Edited March 29, 201311 yr by swisstrader

Brands of course do testing and get feedback from loyal customers, in this case especially loyal George Spirits customers and 90% LIKE the looks and design. These are boutique brands that target very specific customer not mainstream off the shelf like many big name brands. George has a huge hardcore following. He would not design it if it would not sell. If brands had 49 of of 50 say WTF to their designs they would all be out of business. I don't know of any Honma iron that does CNC machining like that. Whether people like the looks or not, and of course it would be impossible for everyone to have he same tastes, there is no denying manufacturing quality. Now how it performs... is still something to be seen! (^_^)
March 29, 201311 yr I dont think it's a club I'll play, but as always a very cool and unique design by George Spirits!
