no, not because it's face is so hot that it split a ball open...but because it kept this ball in play for over 7 rounds!!! poor thing finally gave out on it's 8th round but still managed to give me a bogey with it's dying breath. ;)

lol, like i captioned below the pic...it's not the power but the consistency! i seem the ball on the tee with the arrow pointing down my target line just like i do when putting. this causes my driver to impact the same place on the ball each time and ironically this is exactly where the ball gave out. i wonder how many more rounds i could have got out of it if i placed the ball randomly on the tee?

I'm gonna set the over/under on 11 rounds paying even under...

Also, I take it you don't think that scuff marks impact anything or do you spend so much in gear you can't buy a new ball after every 3rd round?

at one point i might have used the latter excuse that i'm stingy when it comes to buying new balls but one of my patients is a tm rep so i get premium pentas/lethals for $19/dozen! i do think a scuffed ball effects performance but i don't think i'm good enough to see that effect. i just won the first tourney i ever entered playing the same ball all 3 rounds.

anyways, i think the biggest reason i play a ball as long as i do is because it pisses off my playing partners! hehehe!!! ;)
