Tourstage 709 MC mini review

I've had these for about a month now and used them in a couple rounds as well as at the range a handful of times.

They are extremely nice looking, even more so in person. I love the setup at address. Compact but not intimidating.

Right now they are shafted with Modus 3 - 120 - stiff. These are standard length which is too short for me. The grips are also standard and are way too small for me. However, with that being said, these may very well be the best performing iron I've ever hit. No, they're not the most forgiving, no they're not the softest on off-center hits but in terms of the best all around iron (accuracy, ability to work the ball, etc) these may very well be the best. I absolutely love them. The 302s are softer and more forgiving but I don't find them as accurate and you can't work the ball as easily. These Tourstage irons are like a perfect blade with less intimidation and more forgiveness.

I know Tatsuro said they are harsh on off-center hits. I don't totally agree. I find they give you wonderful feedback but harsh might be, well... harsh. Pure'd shots have a wonderful fee - think combination of Epon and Miura. Soft yet strong. Off-center hits are firm but not harsh. Honestly, these are the most "point and shoot" irons I've ever played. I think the modus 120's are a fantastic shaft to go with them, too.

For anyone on the fence with these, don't hesitate to pull the trigger. I'm a 10HC and a mediocre ball striker (thin) yet these aren't challenging to play with.

Now, since these modus 3 120s are too short for me and I'm not interested in plugs and I already have Modus 3 120s in TX in my Onoff forged irons, I'm not interested in using them in these irons.

I'm considering the following:

Shimada Tours

Fujikura MCI

Steel Fibres i125

I've never tried any of those shafts so advice would be great!

Help me out.

Thanks.

x-blade are one of the best designed range of irons ever.., these are a sensational evolution

if it helps i have the mb 701 from a cpl of yrs back with aerotechs 110x. , which.. might be a tad too light. but they are cetianly taught enough tho.

as far as feel goes. they are ok . they arent the best feel. nor the worst , just a bit .well. dense.... thats the best word i can think of.

as for dispersion t goes...they are fantastic,

for distance control they are perfect.

for fligth they are perfect,

they not the easiest to move about bec of the extra stiffnes, but that said if u point it and hit it well it goes EXACTLY .., exactly................., where its sposed to. i think they are a very very good matched set.

ive had plenty of x-baldes with DGx100 and again feel is kinda meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh.. dead.

but for playability ,they are superb.

monacco are another very good match, prob the best ive hit with TS irons so far. def not as clunky as the DG range.

and if/ when i get these ill be puting monacco in them for sure

i bought the 909 mb and i think ill prob get the mcs , ive been pondering over them for a cpl of days

im a huge fan of TS designs, but i just think they cud make them a bit nicer to hit and they might sell about a billion more of them

that said they are literaly made for the player that tries to win tournaments and im . pretty sure that guy doesnt give sheeeeeeet what they feel like as long as they work.

tourstage never get any love.

stupid ,really...

wonder why ?

Well said......... all of it!!

I think I'll put some SteelFibres in them because I personally don't like the Monacos. I hit them way too high and they feel rubbery to me. Hard to explain. They just don't feel right.

Unless someone comes on here and says the Fujikura MCI's are absolutely off the charts awesome, I'll probably try the Aerotech steelfibres. Shimada's are probably good but nothing unique about them.

Ya, I'd like to try them but I've also been hearing great things about the Fujikura MCI's.

Not much feedback on Shimadas for some reason...

Once again I could chime in as I have something relevant, but not gonna bother. Deaf ears and all...

Haha, I actually looked it up!

True Temper seems so wrong for the Maxima but the specs look nice!

I'll let you be the guinea pig on this one, though, haha.
