RIduffer
I have a cluster of QFE shafts and am looking to re-shaft the Maxima. I initially built up the Maxima with a WBQ 75SX and that seems to be too soft. QFE WBQ 75SX QFE Proto 65X QFE 75SX QFE 75X
JayDM
Haven't played the WBQ, I've played everything else on the list above and the one thing that you don't have up there is the gold medalist for me, the Proto 75SX, I'm not sure about stiffest tip, but definitely the stoutest overall profile, its always felt sturdier to me than any of the QFE non protos including the 75X. I have a 65SX in my Crazy 435 right now, would that do it or you think it needs to bump up to the 75 SX?
JayDM
The 75 series in all of the Quadra's I've hit seems to play considerably stiffer for me than the 65, I've never hit the WBQ, don't really know the profile of it, but if the 75 SX in that is too soft I'm assuming that the 65SX in the proto will play as stiff as the 75SX in the WBQ with a bit less weight and a different ballflight, kick point, etc, if playing a lighter shaft weight isn't an issue for you then maybe play the Proto in 65SX a quarter inch shorter... If the 75 SX in the WBQ is considerably to soft though, I'd say that the Proto in 65SX is still going to be too soft and go for the 75SX. Spoon
try the proto 65x and fex 75x. 7 and 6 series have such a small difference in spec but you will feel the difference in stoutness. ideally it would be the FEX PROTO 75x but you dont have it:(
nobmontana
I had a proto 75x previously and remember that it was much more tip stiff and stout overall compared to wbq75 in sx I currently game. It was too much shaft for me. ( my SS is around 110mph ) My Maxima initially had wbq 65x and did not feel tip stiff at all. From that, perhaps a proto75 sx might be your answer? RIduffer
Think I'm gonna start with the Proto 65x. Asked on its behavior in the 388 and Crazy 435. Think it is properly stout and tip stiff enough.
JayDM
The proto in 65X should definitely be stiff enough.... I Just pulled a Proto 75SX out of a head to put in a Diamana X, that leaves me with 2 of the 75SX Protos that aren't in anything at the moment, might sell one of them, if the 65X doesn't work out for you, PM me if you the 75SX.
