Have just pulled the stock shaft (m-46) out of my egg hd. While inspecting the removed shaft I noticed that the tip seems to have a metal cap at the end. Does anybody know what this is for? Is it there for any specific reason?

I'm about to reshaft with a Kai'li 80 is there anything I should know?

It is probably a TIP weight.

I agree, most likely a tip weight.

Mine didn't have anything of that sort when I pulled mine. Did you buy yours used? It could have been reshafted. As others said, it could be a tip weight or maybe a shim.

Thanks all, think you are all correct about it being a weight. It was used, but came with the stock shaft so hadn't considered it having been 'tinkered'' with.

Looking forward to trying the Kai'li 80 to see how it goes.
