In my ongoing quest to find a 16/17* hybrid, I'm wondering is the RomaRo UTs (both the Type R and the previous gen) can be adjusted for loft.

I'm looking at bending a 18* 1 degree stronger to 17*.

Anyone know or tried?

Thanks in advance.

Is it potentially more dangerous to bend a ute for loft or for lie? Or maybe no difference? I've bent some iron-type utes that were cast, not forged (Tourstage), for lie angle with no problem but IDK about the wood-types. Guess it depends on the softness of the metal and length of hosel.

I;m guessing no diff for loft or lie. If they are going to break, they'll break. All I want is 1* stronger loft... hmmm, maybe will get a used one and try it.

I * is probably not worth the trouble/risk. If you need it to go a few yards further, just play to a longer length maybe or a lower launching shaft. Perhaps you should have kept the 17* I-brid.

LOL... perhaps.. how's that doing for you?

Should I say, half and half? A 17* UT is not exactly the easiest club in the bag so still trying to be consistent only after one game. Most of the time, I would be using the 20 and 23* I-brid.

you can. i have bent mine. most tour hosel can be bent. did that to my peanuts and ibrids.

err on the side of caution. not too much. 1-2* is ok

Thanks C. 1* is all I will try if I do.

They do make 17* hybrids mate, those are around, the TRC from 2011 came in 17* and its a fantastic club, great trajectory, feels fantastic, and its as easy to move around as an iron... 16* might not be as findable, really, 1* though isn't going to give you much more distance or alter ball flight much, I mean what are iron yardage gaps with 4* intervals? not a ton of yards, divide that by 4 and your looking at very small numbers, irons also get longer as the loft gets lower which accounts for at least a small amount of distance, thinking along those lines, I just cant see the 1* making much difference at all, not to say I haven't done it though, I've had driving irons bent a degree stronger and irons bent a degree stronger or weaker, just doing the math in my head now though, cant see much difference being made.

Hi Jay,

I see what you;re saying. Looking more for something in-between the 19* and driver as I don't carry 3W anymore and don;t want a 4W too.
