mpbachman
I read on some prior posts that Crazy would/might/never launch a branded version of the 435R? Anyone know if that is coming?
+TourSpecGolfer
No more Jbeam for Crazy I believe.
mpbachman
Ah, ok. Is that just temporarily or a direction where Crazy is going into more self-designed and manufactured heads?
Vegaman
Crazy have used various makers to produce their heads. I'm not sure, but I dont think Crazy even has the facilities to actually produce heads themselves. They might rebrand exisitng heads or co-design heads that are then produced by the other party. gocchin
As far as I know, Jbeam might not make any more Crazy heads as they have moved instead to work with Crazy's competitor TRPX. The president of Jbeam and ABEX from TRPX are friends and former classmates so Jbeam is producing TRPX's woods and in turn TRPX will help Jbeam with visual design and image branding. JayDM
Jbeam makes fantastic heads, really doesn't matter to me what branding they have, weather they say Jbeam, Crazy, or TRPX, doesnt make much difference to me, everything I've hit from them has been wonderful, the only head it ever actually mattered performance wise was the 435 where the J Beam head was I believe tuned down slightly vs. The Crazy. I've heard that before, but can it really be true? That the Crazy Jbeam 435 have better spec and performance than the Jbeam ? Seems implausible. JayDM
I believe it had to do with a non competition agreement. It definitely can be plausible, I'm pretty certain Crazy released the 435 first designed by J Beam and made sure if J Beam was going to release the head under there own label then it couldn't perform quite as well as the Crazy, if Jbeam originally released there own head and then Crazy decided to re brand it then I couldn't see it happening, but if J Beam designed it for Crazy then decided to release it once they saw how popular it was then I could definitely see Crazy being able to set some terms. wmclarenf1
I've owned both. No diff in performance and I actually thought the jbeam felt a bit better but that was down to the weight placement.
gocchin
Actually jbeam released the head first then Crazy rebranded it the CRZ435. They should be the exact same head performance and feel wise. The heads that Crazy use save for the new 450, all existed as other brands heads before they became Crazy heads. Crazy is after all a shaft company so they need brands like Jbeam and AFD and Solid Contacts and George Spirits (first gen 450) to help them.
