Calvin
My swing speed is 94~96 mph. I'm not sure which club head will fit me better? S-Yard XV or Crazy 435 II? Any one could give me an advice? May be matching the right shaft will be more critical than the club head itself. Thanks!
supo
close ur eyes on that one they are both great. the syard might be a bit shorter and controlled the 435 will be longer id say... shaft choice on either of these is prob more critical
potuna
I haven't hit the syard but hated the 435.
Craig
Having both and with swing speed similar I would say the XV. I dont like the head but think you need more ss for the 435II. The Crazy guys rate the 435II as forgiving and draw biased. I have not found that to be true.
jimmieboi
435ii isn't so forgiving but it's definitely long. And it is draw bias even in square face angle spec.
mpbachman
Go with the original 435, take a look at the new Crazy 450 or TRPX line as well. My swing speed (now comfortable around 94-95) is matched well with the old 435 (and a longest yard 01 shaft). Tario can fit you well... Craig
I cant disagree with that
mauvanilla
Not meaning to make it more complicated ... but have you also considered the Ryoma?!
Calvin
Thanks guys!I don't like the look and sound of Ryoma, even it could be the longest one. Crazy said the 435II is more for athlete type of player but do you guys know any shaft that might turn thing around.
gocchin
All the drivers mentioned are good. Of the two you mentioned the XV might be better but if that were the case I would suggest you try the TRPX, with the right shaft, the TRPX can be longer than all these drivers, Ryoma included. You mean the D or S?or both? I think 435, 435II, and TRPX are all made by J beam. What made the TRPX better than the other two? Also I don't see TRPX in the store. I think the total price will be easily over $ 1,000, right? If the overall performance is not that far off, do you think XV would be the best buy here? Thanks again T, helpful as always. Thanks again T, helpful as always. TRPX is a brand new design, and designed by TRPX made by Jbeam. The 435 and 435II are older models (especially the 435 which is 4 years old) and designed by Jbeam. Though I will admit the 435 is legendary. The TRPX ordering thread is here: http://www.tourspecg...-and-customers/ It is being offered to forum members at a special price first and will go in the store later this month. D or S depends on you. I made a comparison here: http://www.tourspecg...ual-comparison/ The XV is a good driver but for almost the same price the TRPX also comes with a high modulus carbon shaft which is considerably better than the stock XV shaft. I like the XV a lot, it feels good, is very straight. But I bag the TRPX for a reason. Its longer.
freehb04
I don't know anything about the trpx but you should make sure it or any other head you end up with sounds and feels good...given your subjective tastes...which it sounds like you have a good sense of....distance is really secondary (even at your swing speed (that is if you prioritize scoring...at our hcap an extra 10 yards is no big deal, it's all about consistency and short game)...if you just want distance, go nonconforming and accept that u may sacrifice the sound/feel that u prefer... as far as shafts go, what are your profile preferences? do you like a firm butt and lively tip/opposite/in between? what torque feels right to you? what's your tempo? what's your most common swing flaw? what's your trajectory like? what do you want your ball to do relative to what it does now (what is your current setup)? what shafts have been successful for you in the past? I'm sure Tario will fit you with the right shaft if you give him enough information. my driver ss averages btw 97-102, smooth tempo, I like a lively tip section and a solid punch at the bottom...atlas 3 6s is a great fit for me...If you're indecisive on shaft go w the gdtaddi 6s or 7r which is very fungible and works for a wide range of golf ears in the 8-13 hcap range.... good luck and post pics/reviews after u get your new driver! Can't argue with that. Some time it is just so hard to put things into a word. You are right, consistent center hit sometimes could make up more yardage than what club you're using. Yes, feel is what all about. Club fitting is tricky. With no test drive, just make thing even more so.
