+TourSpecGolfer
Is Taylormade Japan on to something? For those of us who have hit the original Gloire then the reserve we all know they are long, forgiving, and user friendly. These are designed for the non athlete type player although the driver can easily withstand a 100 mph swing speed. This year it's actually named Gloire "Distance"... Does that mean it's longer? I'm not sure only time will tell. The face looks a bunch cooler in black vs white. It's still the 70 layer composite material but TM claims its 55% bigger than the average sweet spot, that's even bigger than the reserve. It's got the adjustable loft, comes with the wrench, but what has my stuck is the shaft options. Head material: α · β titanium Face material: Graphite Composite + thermoset urethane loft angle: 9.5,10.5 Lie angle: 58 degrees Head volume: 460cm3
stevopagolf
I picked up a Gloire Reserve late in season. It is ridiculously forgiving and long. Slightly better than my Ryoma which was in the bag for over 2 years which is an eternity for me. For them to come up with something potentially longer? WOW
EdGolf
What are the shaft options for this?? Also does the head comes in black?
tokidoki1986
It's actually look a lot better in black, can't wait to see the tasting result. It's really interesting to see how's Gloire Distance and Legacy Platinum compete with each other.
driverhead
What are the shaft options for this?? Also does the head comes in black? If the pattern follows the last 2 Glories , ther will be 2 Fuji models.... the GL450 and GL550. (weight based) The shafts in last years Glorie Reserve were a bit tighter and slightly stiffer given the same flex than the 2012 Glorie. I was dialed in with the 2012 Glorie, I just got max carry with a high draw and minimal rollout. The Reserve was longer with a stronger trajectory and better rollout. I have put several shafts in this head, and the Crazy Prototype 513 S worked the best for me in this head as well as the 2012 Glorie. GL200 is the stockie & a fubuki K50 is the upgrade.
nudgeegolf
Do these drivers have removable weights to get swing weight up?
Robb40
I absolutely love the look of this driver. Man I would love to hit one. I must say that I am surprised that it does not have a high quality shaft in it or at least as an option without more cash. Kind of a downer in that regard. Love the look of the head. Robb40
Well I pulled the trigger on a slightly used Gloire today. man this driver is beautiful in appearance. I sure hope it is a bomber. I am concerned about the stock shaft but maybe I can pick up a quality high launch low spin shaft if needed. The price was worth a shot. if you see it on the BST soon it will probably be due to the stock shaft and my inability to purchase a high quality replacement. Looking forward to trying this one out. There will be tape on the top for sure :-)
