shaft to replace crazy boron on ryoma type v?

Hi guys,

I'm wondering if anyone has crazy boron on Ryoma V-spec 10.5 and replace it with something else.

For some reason, something is missing. Don't get me wrong tho, I'm hitting it straight and long with this combo.

I'm currently thinking of replacing the shaft or get a new driver altogether.

I'd appreciate anyone giving their thoughts on it.

(If I'm getting a new driver altogether, what combo is equally or even longer than the ryoma-boron combo)

Thanks guys! :)

I think the new tech in the Ryoma's takes away the feel of hitting it well. You just don't get the sensation you've clobbered one.

I'm not sure a different shaft will change that. If I were to suggest one it would be a Diamana B. Great shaft and I have found

it gives a better sensation of having hit it well.

Have you tried either of the S-Yards? The XV or the T.388? Much better feel and great results.

ive tried EVERY shaft u cud think of in my ryomas.

on saturday i had 4 of them at the range tying to get a definitive

"this is the gretaest"

line up..,

graph design z9903x 6x

roddio shingo spec m6 proto X

diamana stinger 70x

diamana X 70s

if uwant to hit low piecing bullets all day long striaght down the pipes then the

graph design z9003x type6x........................EASILY........................................... EASILY....................... the greatestst straight ,low shooter ive ever hit of ANY driver.. distance was very good accuracy was unbleeiveable for its weight 318 gram, (and i was on song driving, i didnt miss a beat.allday)

EASILY the best.

the diamanaX 70s was horter by 1/4 inch in build length at 44.75 but htis is for day in out for control. plusd its higher flighted. by a long way. . its a heavier shot and down wind this thing is long, into the wind its stable and its about consistancy . its no nonsense. nothing great/bad it does a perfet job and wud be my no 1 driver for every possible condition.

u cant bend it left nor right its just for control.

the stinger is the longest combo the set up of the boron doenst QUITE get the same feel with say an endo head, but for cha chig kapow .............,this gets it out there. high and straight, very hard to move about. best feel adn its so reliable. can swing super slow of super fast, same result, only diver here that this is possible with

shngo spec. 47.5 inch

yup

this is a monster.

centre shots with it were huge. way longer than everyting esle. 15 + yards longer.

miss**ts i got killed with right . not sure what i shud be doing with it , either choke down or take long handle.

i think ite better for my SS to choke down. but my buddy whos about 7-10 mph slower takes long handle to his and KILLS his he picked up 20 yards. yes 20 easily 20.... going to 47.5 inch made such a big differnce its unbeleiveable for slower swingers THIS is the honey badger. its crazzy long. which makes sense bec shingo got 15 ayrds extra withthis shaft over the 2009 -2010 with JUST a shaft change

thats massive at a professional level. now i see why.

Thanks for the replies guys =D

It might be the head. I have to agree with idrive about the (non-)sensation of clobbering one. It's just like "Oh I just hit 300 yards, but it sounds like my putter hitting a 3-foot putt".

But the shaft is albeit soft. Maybe I'll try the GD z9003x.

One interesting fact for the Ryoma-Boron combo is that how it loads nicely for slower swingers. I had a friend (about 85mph SS) tried to hit it for a couple shots and boom it went off for about 260-270 yards. It flew for probably 200 yards and roll out to get to ~270 yards. I was shocked. It may be premature, but it seems that this combo benefits slow swingers rather than fast swingers.

I think the Boron loads well for the smoother swinger, it can handle the speed but prefers fluidity to raw aggression… I have the Boron in an Epon Zero and that is what I learned from the combo.

The newer Maxima provides better feedback on clobbering one, but have found it is best with a slightly stiffer shaft than you are used to. The SYards perform admirably distance wise as does the Yam v203. Hard to beat many of the top drivers out right now, shaft is the critical part. Put some newer shafts into older heads and can get marvelous results too...
