TM Japan demos have arrived for some testing and photos.

Took some quick shots of the very unique carbon composite Gloire driver.

Last years was one of the most popular in Japan among average golfers and applauded for huge distance.

Can't wait to try it out!

Snapped some photos of the TM Japan SLDR 430cc TP today before going out for a spin with it later.

Nice deep face, less bulge compared to many drivers on the market today.

Black IP finish is very cool.

TP stock specs have the face at 0.5* open and 56* lie which will favor those who have trouble with the left side... slide the weight to Fade and it will be even more anti left.

While the CG in the 430TP is low, it is quite forward in the face which also results in smaller gravity angle. This equals a low spin powerful penetrating trajectory and workable ball. Because of this design, TM decided to offer the TP in 10 and 11* lofts to help with launch.

This has the stock TMI-1142 shaft (comes in SR, S and X) which feels pretty stout but of course you can also get TM's full array of JDM upgrades from their custom department including the new Speeders and Tour AD MT.

Wow your pictures are better than their official ones on the TM site. I don't have the Reserve but do love the original Gloire. Perhaps skipping a year wasn't such a bad idea.

I want one of those 430 SLDR TP's. Do what you have to to reserve one for me please. Probably the 10.5 or 11* with the Tour AD shaft in S. Just send it to me, whatever the cost. Thanks.

I like the new Gloire. The black looks better. I have the 2013 Gloire Reserve, it is very long and very forgiving, I have always been a TM hater due to the rapid product release but the Gloire is really really good

Its funny, I rank my 1st generation Gloire up there with Ryoma Premia or even my Maxima both in feel and distance yet it is not a high demand or popular driver here at TSG.

In Japan the Gloire is more popular than Ryoma and is one of the most used drivers on the LPGA Japan which is reflective of what average to better men golfers use.

When I heard the Japanese TM guys talk about the Gloire they pronounced it as GLOY-RE. The RE part as in "reputation" for example. If it's supposed to be french it's to be pronounced as Gloaar I guess...Hm, maybe that makes it even more confusing

I have always liked the look of the 1st gen Gloire. But always thought they'd be really high launch and spinny..Kinda like an "old mans" driver. The uberwhippy and light TM shafts reinforced that impression I guess. Mind, I have never hit one

You are exactly right with the stock set up and definitely would benefit most senior golfers. The head and shaft combo is higher launch but no whipper than other JDM stock shaft. On my 10.5*, I would set the loft at -1.5 and at the same time, put in a FE which is lower launch than stock and heavier.

Now I am almost 47, I don't think that is Senior territory. I have the stock shaft in stiff. I swing 95 to 105 MPH. I don't find the shaft too whippy or the head too spinny. I get it out in the 275 to 285 range. I have the reserve version. I am more of Ernie Els tempo vs. a hard swinger maybe that helps..... No launch issues....

My 1st Gen. Glorie knocked my 1st Gen. Ryoma/Crazy combo right out the bag and off to the Bay it went never to be thought of again.

This 3rd Gen. Glorie is looking really, REALLY nice and just might make me pull the trigger on a new driver for the 2014 season.

As always, thank you Tario for all your great pictures! :atsg_smilie_tm:

Interesting stuff. Like I said, I laways liked the look of the look of the Gloire, might need to track one down and hit it.

cool pics Tario! looks like pretty deep face and should look compact at address (kinda hard to judge from up close pic but it probably looks smaller than its 430 size at address). you say full array of shaft upgrades, tm site just lists fuji speeder and gd mt as upgrades. gd mt is interesting but i think gd has 8x version of it which is not listed by tm. also their custom order, are they able to pick a head from the bunch based on more desired specs ? i know its jdm qa and all and they all probably already close to spot on but even for jdm qa they would deem 1-1.5 degree differences as acceptable so if i wanted their flattest lie head from the bunch do they sort them and able to pick one up on request or they cannot be bothered unless its for a tour player ?

SLDR 430 TP pics are up in second post!

That TM 430 looks awesome- great picture taking.

I hear the 460 was not all that forgiving I would imagine the 430 is even less so - would love to hear your thoughts on your range hitting session. What head would you compare it to as far as forgiveness and distance?

The JP version is so mich nicer looking than the US retail release.
