Yamaha RMX Forged vs. ON-OFF Forged vs. Titliest VG3....

Just trying to get a general idea and comparison (similarities and differences) on these models in terms of head size, offset, top line, distance, etc. Curious to see if VG3 will come out with a new version for 2014 since the present version is 2 years old already.

While I want there to be a new VG3 I'm not confident it will happen. Would be nice if they called it the VG4 though :) Of all you mention I give the nod tot he ONOFF Forged, That's without trying the new RMX. I have an Endo bias, I am currently playing the Yamaha RMX Tour Model and am absolutely in love with them. I do have a set of the RMX forged on the way that I will post pics of but I'm not sure how long it will be before I actually game them.

Aren't the VG3's Endo forged as well? I love the 2010 VG3's. Perfect combo of feel, distance, forgiveness for me. The only wish I have would be a slightly narrower sole.

VG3 is definitely one of the best all-round iron set in the market, don't understand why they didn't come out with something new since 2010 but surely this is one of those club all TSG member have been waiting for.

Titleist did come out with a newer model in 2012. I preferred the look of the 2010

I am hoping for a knockout version in 2014....kate upton like.

Yes the 2012 version was slightly more compact, very subtle difference. I agree the VG3 is such an amazing iron. In that one they were able to pack forgiveness with feel and distance together.

RMX is the biggest and most automatic though the VG3 is not far behind in ease of use,

All 3 irons launch high very easily, especially the VG3 and ONOFF thanks to sole weighting.

The VG3 may have the most balanced shape at address though some find the top line a bit chunky for a blade length that is shorter.

Feel wise the ONOFF Forged is the best and maybe the most all around ie balance of forgiveness, distance and workability.

I totally forgot about the 2012 version because most of the time when we talk about VG3 we usually talking about the 2010 model and barely mentioned the 2012.

  • 3 weeks later...

Onoff Forged is probably the perfect iron for most golfers.

Can we expect both the new VG3 and Onoff forged to be revealed during the fair?

ONOFF Forged won't be till late fall as always,

As I noted in another thread, VG3 should be at the fair - looking forward to it!

I keep checking Titliest JP website everyday for anything on the new VG-3's. Still nothing. Interesting, Titliest JP still does not have their 2014 catalogue out yet? The suspense is killing me!
