Posted January 9, 201411 yr comment_219199 I can't decide which one could be a better choice between the GD Tour AD 65 and the MRC Bassara UL 60 - since I do not have knowledge about them and I have to order them without being able to try them, any advice or suggestion would be mostly appreciated.
January 11, 201411 yr comment_219242 i have the GD AD 85 S on epon 502 and Quadra 852i SR on onoff forged, i know these are diff heads but here are my impressions... Quadra shafts are very smooth and higher ball flight, very easy on the arms (I have tennis elbow). GD tighter dispersement and longer. I had the AD 65 on my epon 701, but thought they were too light and was over swinging. hope this helps

I still play the Quadra 752 but also have a spare set of 652 SR flex 5-PW set for sale. I know its a plug but since you asked :-). Quadras for me are very smooth, tight and at least as long as the NS pro 750 I played. Key thing is they are mid kick and ball flight is lower than the 750 and also a lot better dispersion wise. If you;re interested in the 652s, drop me a PM :-)

February 22, 201410 yr comment_221490 Tour AD are old tech in the JDM world and for a bit more money, you should try MC! 60 or 70g. I am happy with my Roddio I-6 so not taking any chance with the MCI at the moment. If I am building a brand new set, it would definitely my choice.
February 22, 201410 yr comment_221505 I'm still very happy with the Quadra 752 in my Crazy Protos but am bringing in MCI 70S to try in a new set of irons.

But let's not forget that sometimes old tech is better than new tech. In fact, often older is a LOT better than newer. Dynamic Gold, GD Quattrotech, etc, are as good as anything out there. Bubble shafts, anyone? lol
February 24, 201410 yr comment_221643 I'd second the MCI suggestion. I've played both the 60 and the 70, and have settled on the 70 as my shaft of choice.
February 24, 201410 yr comment_221648 Check Titleist's iron shaft chart. There are a few graphite and graphite composite shaft options you can compare for launch and spin. I've been playing with Steelfiber 80 shafts for 2 seasons in jpx 800 pro heads. But I don't get enough height and carry with these shafts in my new Romaro heads. I need slightly more launch and spin. Thinking about new graphite shafts as well, and was leaning toward tour ad 85, but the graph shows the 65 to launch and spin so high that I'm skeptical. Looks like the recoils go about the same as steelfibers, so no point in those.
February 25, 201410 yr comment_221723 Can anyone set me up with a comparison between the Steelfiber i80 and Tour AD 85? Throw in the Recoils in the same weight class and I'll be even happier. Thanks, gents.
