TRPX Messenger FW - Special Introductory Offer for Forum Members

It's finally here, TRPX's new Messenger Fairway Wood shaft.

Specifically designed for fairway woods, the Messenger brings distance, control and ease of use in a balanced package just like the driver shaft.

The Messenger FW is also heavier by 3-4g than the driver shaft even though it is 2" shorter in it's raw form (so it is in fact even more heavy based on equal lengths).

TRPX tested several configurations and bend profiles and kick points and settled on a tip stiff and mid to high kick point which enhances feel in the hands and produces a strong powerful fairway wood trajectory with low spin.

TRPX has also used a different flex rating system on the Messenger FW using Stars instead of an actual flex designation.

The 4 stars are aimed at Touale, Messenger and X-Line users and can loosely be translated into SR, S, SX and X. If you need help choosing a flex just email me.

Retail Price will be 450.00 + 20.00 shipping per shaft but for a limited time only forum members can have the shaft for 340.00 + 20.00 shipping.

Email me at [email protected] to order as our next batch comes in next week!

  • 2 weeks later...

Hit this one at a demo day in Osaka this week. I'm switching over from my long trusted crazy FW80s.

Incredibly tight dispersion and the trajectory was absolutely perfect. Slightly higher than the FW80 yet with a much better feel. Made me rethink needing heavier weights in FW shafts.

We also hit the X Line W prototypes.

Chris

That's great I am glad I put my order in already for this shaft, I was considering getting another FW80, but believe that the TPRX shaft will work very well since the messenger works great in my hands.

i should have my 3w shaft this week. went with the 4 stars so we'll see how this plays in a couple weeks. 6 rounds in florida should provide plenty of chances to test this!

im throwing it in my EGG HD. the fubuki is definitely a solid shaft but can be inconsistent. at times it launches too high and can feel a little whippy (the stiff flex). hopefully the TRPX will knock down the trajectory a bit.

the EGG HD is an absolute bomber for me so im expecting big things out of this combo.

ill keep you all posted after my trip to Florida which is April 4th.

Thanks Mr.haha. I havent updated my bag but I am also gaming the HD with fubuki f75. Definitely a highly performing combo but I love the Touale combo with Nitro. If this fw shaft is similar in feel & stability.. hmmm more spending :)

mini review:

so I originally thought the 3 Star shaft would work well for me but Tario emphatically suggested that I stick with the 4 Star shaft ( I have the SX TRPX Messenger 1st shaft).even though this shaft is supposed to play similar to the Messenger 1st, I really was not sure what to expect from this shaft...ie did it play stout, boardy, whippy etc.. and in general I have never played an "X" flex shaft.

I received the shaft early this morning and shafted up the Egg HD so that it plays at about D2. I did not tip the shaft and it is currently playing at a standard 3 wood length of 43".

Unfortunately I had to wait about 4.5 hours for the epoxy to cure as I ran out of the quick set epoxy but I got to the range and hit about 30 balls off the tee and mat:

of the tee this shaft was very tight. dispersion was very narrow and I even tried to fade a bunch of shots. Trajectory versus the fubuki was a little lower but i did not notice a huge change.

overall and of course this is off just 1 range session, the feel was fantastic. I took a bunch of smooth swings and very aggressive swings and it never felt as if the club controlled me which is how I felt with the fubuki ESPECIALLY when I wanted to lay into one. this to me is a huge selling point.

off the mat this club launched piercing balls andI was pretty surprised with this.

In terms of distance I really have no gauge yet as these were driving range balls.

Thus far, and again this is early in the testing phase but this shaft definitely was an upgrade from where I was coming from and am glad I made the purchase and trusted Tario with his choice of 4 stars.

ill post more after Florida.

Thanks for the mini review. I am waiting for my shaft to come in and I will be putting it into an Egg HD FW as well. Sounds very promising.

Thanks for the mini review MrHaha! Certainly does sound very promising. The touale SX for me is how you described it "club never controlled me" hence my interest. Looking forward to your updates!
