twice
I'm looking to get a set of Yoro Craft MP54 3-7/MP64 and/or MP4 8-pw The problem is that the mp54 have strong lofts, unlike the american version, and to avoid a 6 degree gap between clubs, or avoid having two 7 irons I was thinking of weakening the lofts of the 54s 1 deg and strengthening the 64s 1 deg.. My concern is that adjusting the lofts will negatively affect the bounce. The reason i don't just get a full set of MP54s is because there is two 5 degree gaps in the JDM set, and 9 and PW have too much cavity for my preference. It wouldn't be good to have a set of Yoro Craft irons only to have their performance diminished because of an improper bounce angle. Any insight is much appreciated
Miuramaniac
If I were you I would just try them in the lofts they come with first. A 6* gap between clubs from 2 different types of sets might not be a "real" 6*. Meaning the 54's are meant to hit the ball higher with more weight lower than the 4. Then adjust lofts according to distance gaps. This obsession with loft number gaps is understandable, but not practical. Start with how far you want your longest and shortest irons to go and adjust lofts to get nice, even gaps between them. And adjusting the loft 1* on an iron will make no noticeable difference in the bounce. Not til you get to at least 2 or 3 degrees will it make a difference. twice
adjusting the loft 1* on an iron will make no noticeable difference in the bounce. That would be ideal, but only club maker I know in Monterey is at GolfMart and there isn't anyone there I would let work on my clubs. And everything inside the gates is overpriced All the American MP sets are the same loft and marketed as interchangeable for a combo set. There must be something in it.
