Posted April 28, 201410 yr comment_224345 So my 2014 Yamaha RMX Cb tours have yet to make the bag. I really cannot play them well at all. I have no idea why. I went -. 25" on length which is what I've played before but I just hit these horribly. Ive been playing my mp60s, tc1000s, ezone mbs, and 710mbs and hit all of them well. I've got some nippon proto ORAs I could put in the Yamaha but I dont know if it will help. Or should I just dump them. They just don't feel right to me. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Edited April 28, 201410 yr by Bill3508
April 28, 201410 yr comment_224346 start with what ever you use in those other irons you mention? Aerotech , Fuji mci, diamana thump for graphite.
April 28, 201410 yr Author comment_224348 Rifle 5.5 in mp60s, project X 6.0 flighted in the 710mbs, nippon blues in the Ezone, and proto c10s in the tc1000s. Any consensus.? Modus 3 120s in the Yamaha. Edited April 28, 201410 yr by Bill3508
April 28, 201410 yr comment_224350 There is quite a different profile with the modus 120. Maybe you should use the modus 130?
April 28, 201410 yr Author comment_224351 You think it would be a waste to put the proto ORAs in there or should I go heavy. Like the super peening blues like in the Ezone or even some S400s. The blues are really smooth. Edited April 28, 201410 yr by Bill3508
April 28, 201410 yr comment_224353 I think you should start with the shaft you currently have success with, go from there. No point to try something else 1st
April 28, 201410 yr Author comment_224354 Understand. I think I'll save the Oras for something else. Thanks for the help.
April 28, 201410 yr comment_224358 just comparing cpm, the modus 120 stiff are really low , lower than dg r300. data from http://suuchi.golfclubsuuchi.com/ there are more data on this site but just to give you perspective: modus 120 stiff - 308 cpm with a 38 inch 5 iron 1150gh stiff - 323 cpm with 38 inch 5 iron 950gh stiff - 314cpm with 38 inch 5 iron rifle 5.5 - 337 cpm with a 38 inch 5 iron project x 6.0 - 344 cpm with a 38 inch 5 iron dg s300 - 327cpm with a 38 inch 5 iron dg r300 - 311cpm with a 38 inch 5 iron I know numbers don't tell everything but based on what you normally use, I think your swing is used to something with higher cpm. hope this helps.
April 28, 201410 yr Author comment_224360 Thanks Nob, Wish I had researched that better before I ordered. Appreciate that info. Bill
April 28, 201410 yr comment_224364 Definitely be the shafts. I hated my 2013 Tours with Modus3 but they are awesome with TT Monacos.
April 28, 201410 yr Author comment_224383 Are the DC pros the same as Monacos or are they different. Kind of similar to rifle flighted I guess?
April 29, 201410 yr Author comment_224418 I think I'm going to go with another set of the Nippon super peening blues. And maybe do orange in the 4,5,&6 iron. I like the feel of shaft. Weight doesn't bother me as all my woods and hybrids are heavy shafted. Do you think the blues in the shorts would mesh well with the orange up top or should I just stay the course with blues only? Also got modus 3 in the wedges also so I want to get that out of there. Anything you would recommend to match the irons. Thanks Bill
May 2, 201410 yr comment_224554 for your wedges, go with 1 flex stiffer 8i butt triimed to playing lenght. or 7i if you want more spin and height.
May 19, 201410 yr Author comment_225253 Well I received my clubs back. Sent them to Joe Kwok and he blueprinted them and installed Nippon super peening blue stiff flex. The irons now feel totally different and now have a nice solid feel to them and are so smooth. Expensive mistake but the modus 3 120s in these heads do them a disservice.
