73montecarlo
I'm currently gaming a Romaro HX460 gold. Been in the bag for a couple of months now, so I've had enough time to adjust to it. So far this driver is fantastic. I've gained yardage, but because of all the rain the courses are waterlogged here in Southern Ontario. I was really interested in the Ryoma Special Tuning. Has anyone played both of these, and if so, would it be worth it to replace the Romaro that I'm really hitting good right now? Is the Ryoma that much better? I really got the Romaro in the quest for more yardage, but I hit it not only longer, but incredibly straight. Maybe a slight draw.
+TourSpecGolfer
I've played both, I also suggest doing some forum searches. 460HX is a great head, feels good likes to fly straight just all around awesome. You should also look at the new RomaRo Type-R driver ( i will post this week ) I've taken both out very recently for a quick head to head but only over 5 holes. The Maxima ST is longer but the RomaRo is more reliable. this is stock vs stock stiff shaft I'm talking here, on the ST I was out gunning the RomaRo by 10 yards at least. But of course the ST is non conforming and can't exactly handle faster swing speeds. The ST has better feel than the conforming version and better lower spin rates (Ryoma claims 300rpm less) If I needed non conforming I think I would choose the Type-R driver over the normal Maxima. Now is it worth it to spend the money to replace? I would say in the case of the ST it may be because once those are gone people usually want them even more. I will say if you end up going Ryoma buy it from us, I've seen too many get burned on fake Ryoma's lately, they look practically identical to the real thing. If you go Special Tune you want that face break warranty through TSG.
73montecarlo
Thanks for the informative reply, I'll have to think about it for awhile, but I'll DEFINITELY be buying from Tour Spec if I decide to opt for the ST. I really doubt I'll need the "face break warranty", as my SS is getting rather embarrassing.
