Tiptx4
I'm hoping this is a good deal as I just couldn't resist. I'm picking up a "MINT" barely used Ryoma D-1 F2 13* with a SR Royal Decoration Athlete fairway wood shaft for $450. That's like almost half price as the person goes thru clubs like he changes his underwear I was told. It was purchased from TSG so I'm pretty confident about it being the "real deal" My big concern is will this thing kick out my PRGR 14.5* 3W with GD MT6 shaft. I recently bought a S-Yard XV 5W and I'm killing it 240 off the Tee and just lately I have found myself topping the ball with the PRGR recently. I'm even feeling more confident hitting the S-Yard off the fairway now than hitting the PRGR. Maybe I'm more of a traditionalist when it comes to looks and just didn't know it.. Does this sound like a bargain as this F2 is"MINT" and how does everyone on here feel about the Ryoma F2 and the Crazy Royal Decoration shaft. I have no complaints about the EGG as it's pretty sweet and very long. What should I expect once I receive it when comparing it to the EGG. I don't want to hear what other clubs people might find to be better as I'm just interested in these 2 3 woods. I have a Ryoma D-1 Type V Maxima driver with a Crazy TJ-46 shaft which I love so I feel that if this F2 plays as well as my driver the PRGR might be getting sold. How sad too. +TourSpecGolfer
F2 was not as easy to hit as F3. this year I regrettably sold my F3 and bought an F2. If you can hit the strong 3's well then I'm sure it's a bomber but I don't have the game for that. I hit the F5 better and more consistently than the F3. The F5 was as long as my SYD XV 3 wood. I'm really a big fan of the new Ryoma U, while it's not pretty I think this technology will trickle into future Ryoma woods. The U is so damn straight and long its silly. I would be in heaven if they made a 16* version.
Craig
I think it is a fair price. The BST at the moment is a sellers graveyard. The Ryoma F2 is a great head. Might possibly knock the Egg out of the bag. Higher launching but not as long. Both of these are awesome clubs for different reasons. The S Yard, well i think its just another FW. Nothing better or worse than a 1000 others.

But more consistent maybe coz if the FW80. Craig's a bit modest but he hits bombs with this combo both off the tee & deck :) if the shaft fits you & its the real deal, sounds like great value. I also have the F2 with crazy FW80 shaft, the Syard XV 3 and 5 FW and the Egg(2013). The F2 is ridiculously long plays a slight fade but goes forever especially off the tee. The Egg is very forgiving and easy to hit off the deck. The Syards are easy long and forgiving FW's. Given all that the F2 is in the bag now the Egg will be sold and the Syards are in the back up bag. To your original question it is a good price for the F2. If it came in a 16degree then I wouldn't need a FW ever again
mpbachman
The F3 was easily one of the best fairways I have ever hit. I regret selling it. That price is also a steal. I say pull the trigger, you won't regret it. You will also have resale value of the Ryoma in the BST if it doesn't work out.
Spoon
so between the F2 and F3, are they equally as forgiving off the tee? from the fairway the f3 is easier for sure. what would be the trade offs aside from forgiveness?
Tiptx4
Well my Ryoma F2 13* 3W arrived and I'm so glad I did pull the trigger. My plans are to take my 20* Adams XTD Ti Hybrid out of the bag but keep my 23* in and I will occasionally use the F2 off the Tee on par 4's under 350 yds or those longer par 4's lined with woods on both sides. It's big for a 3W and does look like a driver. The PRGR will be my fairway wood off the deck to reached those par 5's as long as there is no real trouble surrounding the green. If there is it's going to be my S-Yard XV 5W as the flight will be higher and will be landing softer with it. This is my perfect club from 225 - 235. Of course my Big Dog Ryoma D-1 Type V 10.5 driver will get it's share of attention. So far that is my strategy when I get out to play this weekend. I just hate to let the PRGR go. Why did I ever get on this site & start looking at all of these awesome JDM clubs.
mpbachman
Sounds like a great strategy! Shoot em' straight and enjoy! (we all have that JDM addiction, thus we all continue to support each other in the buying/selling/gossiping of clubs ;)
Phillip Alexander
The site should actually be called JDM Anonymous (just think AA)!....LOL But we all love it. The quality of the product and the information available is beyond compare. Good luck on the course to all. Jack
