+TourSpecGolfer
Per mpbachman's request here are some comparo shots of the Ryoma U vs the Modart MA01H I've got a handful of rounds under my belt with both and the similarities between this comparo and the Modart FW vs Ryoma FW comparo is pretty similar. Modart MA01H - easy to get up, very straight with what seems like low spin, that same great impact that the MA01F has, the setup is small. For those who don't like that offset look understand that the neck area that curves in comes back out a bit sorta like how the Callaway JDM Legacy Utes are, It's actually a good thing with woods this shallow. Ryoma U - performance wise this beats all, it's not as easy to get up as the Modart but it gets up easier than the rest, The Ryoma U is longer and much more forgiving like all of Ryoma's clubs but at the same time it's not exactly a looker, it's got a rounded rectangle look to it, face looks slightly closed and it's bigger than most. So how to choose? This is one of those things like owning blades and CB's These two are so different from each other they can live harmoniously in different bag rotations. I'm comparing two different lofts, 19* vs 21* the Ryoma 21* stock shaft is still a good 10 yards longer than the Modart 19 with FW80. The Modart isn't short in distance as it's the same as my other utes it's that the Ryoma U is uber long. As far as setup goes club for club I think Modart offers the clubs with the best setup in JDM land today. Especially the Suda-wedges. mpbachman
Thanks Chris!!!! Man, that Modart is just beautiful at address and surprised it is easier to get up than the Ryoma (I actually find the Ryoma great off the tee but harder off the deck, hrmmmmmm, interesting :)
akapur
Great pics Chris. The Ryoma is a ridiculously long UT. Off the tee it is as long as a 5W. I have had no issues getting the ball in the air with it.Yes it is large to look at, but it performs perfectly every time.
