RLL33
BTW, meant to mention my thanks to Stew and Ash for suggesting the NS Pro WV wedge shaft. I put in a few of my wedges and agree it's a wonderful shaft. Am liking it more than the DG Spinners I was using. Great feel, very precise, good spin control. I got it in the new Zodia as well. Thanks, guyz.
bk24bk
I appreciate everyone's feedback. Lots to think about. I really felt like the Epon 210s were almost like cheating. So easy to use and just felt solid. I do have some Vokey Cold Forged and they feel a lot softer than the Epon's. I think I am going to try the SYard Bold cuz it looks badass and the loft/bounce combos are in line with what I need. I'll let you know what I think of them once I get some rounds in. Thanks all. mpbachman
Chris's post should be pinned somehow as that are the perfect questions to ask when you are trying to select a wedge :)
Hutch
I wish someone would pin that to my forehead so I stop buying wedges based on spin and looks...!
idrive
While it may not impact actual performance of a wedge, I do believe looks are important. Confidence is very important and looking down at something that looks good to you does make a difference.
masters2015
What shafts do you guys like in your wedges and why
TFL07670
His mind must be spinning with options now. Let's ask him the important stuff because it matters. Do you come in steep or shallow? Any preference on bounce? high/mid/low How important is spin? Do you like soft feel with little feedback or firm with more feedback? Do you take deep diviots? Your most played course is hard/med/soft turf As for used vs new in wedges, some wedges hold their spin well and others don't. Looks like we all agree that Yururi and Bolds spin like heck, the bolds will lose some of it over time but if you clean the grooves out it can last. The Yururi's will shred balls for a while with clean grooves. Toyos are good spin, not great, but the feel/feedback factor ranks high to me and also the grind. Endo made wedges feel gooood all around but lack in feedback. consider the ONOFF S-Forged, not many have it but consider those the Toyoshima of Endo. The 52 is almost gone at Labo. Stew is talking about the TourStage X-Wedge, this is for the advanced player imo, they give nice feedback and don't feel oozy like others. compact and yes it comes with spin that lasts. firmer and compact sums them up for me. As far as new vs used, of course we would love to earn your business but whats important is you get what you need, I suggest used if your experimenting or unsure of what to get, I suggest new if you know what you want and must have it. Lastly consider non conforming grooves if you don't play tourneys. Chris - love to hear your thoughts on the non conforming spinners, which are the latest / trends?
