Taylormade Japan SLDR 430 Pics

Recommended Posts

Got a few of these in 11* SR flex stock shaft come back to us, I gave one a whirl, I like the flight and spin especially in the wind, I don't like it's forgiveness but I love it's shape. imo TM knows how to do sexy shapes but I wish there was a bigger version with more heel and toe real estate kinda like the new Ryoma Type-R yet with the same SLDR flight and spin... oh well I guess we can't have it all.

These were great sellers a month or so ago at TSG then fell flat, wondering if anyone is still playing one and their thoughts.

I'm gaming a 10° with GD ADDI 6s and like it a lot.

I hit a high ball normally and this dragged the hight down a bit. Ball flight was a good penetrating flight into the wind with no ballooning. Hit some of my longest balls with this club.

The club head looks fantastic at address.

I am currently playing a 430 with a Veylix Alpina 673 shaft. They don't make a left handed 430 in the Japanese version as far as I know. Mine is 12 degrees, but probably could do with an 11 degree. I love this driver, as it gives me the lowest spin of any of my drivers. It plays a little like the Crazy 435 in my opinion, long, low spin, not very forgiving and average feel. A great club to play in the wind. Just got my Ryoma Maxima D-1 Type V, so I am going to see if this can knock the SLDR out of the bag. Would much rather have a JDM driver in the bag if possible.

Must be mental for me... as I can't make this driver perform.

My brother plays the 11* in standard setting with a UST Mamiya Elements Chrome 65f4t . He is loving it. I have never seen him drive the ball any better. I have hit it a few times but it isn't really set up properly for me. I imagine with a 70 ish gram x flex shaft in the 9.5* setting I could be pretty happy with the driver. The only thing lacking in my opinion is feel. I have been spoiled by the tourstage 909.

I continue to hit this driver well. My well struck shots are 10 yards longer than my other drivers, and my shots with sidespin (hooks and slices) seem to be less pronounced and closer to the fairway than with my other drivers. I am still thinking that this is really similar to the Crazy 435 as I stated before.
