Bending and Grinding Yururi Wedges

I am wanting to buy a Yururi Tataki Wedge, 60.5/12. I would want it bent to 62 if possible but really need the bounce to be half of what it is at 6. I know some clubs like to bent better than others. This would be the first time have a club with a custom grind. Does anyone have any experience working on Yururis?

so i just bent my 56.5 down to 55. the tataki is very easily bent and youll have no issues there.

the problem you might run into is the amount of headweight you will lose. when you increase the loft by bending you will increase the angle between the sole line and ground line. this isn't a bad thing but it depends on your angle of attack and overall playing conditions. if you aren't a steep swinger you will def need to grind your sole as you previously mentioned.

if i am right, and other can chime if, when you decide to go to 62 degrees you will increase the bounce of your club. this could swing it to 14 degrees. to then get the bounce down to 6 i think you may be taking off too much headweight and then may not be able achieve the proper swingweight that you might need.

this is a tough project since 6 degrees of bounce is VERY small and that wedge will really dig in and might be unplayable in soft conditions.

let me know more about your thoughts.

You'll have no problems bending Yururis...but with those specs being important, why not go with the Gekku instead of the Tataki?

I play in in dry and firm conditions here south Texas so I do not need a lot of bounce. I would like 6 but do not mind 8 degrees of bounce. I can work with the 60.5 but would like 62. Since I try to play some tournaments I want to stay legal too.

The 61* Gekku bent to 62* would give you your 6* bounce and unless your tourneys are U.S. Open qualifiers you don't need to worry about the groove rule for another 10 years.

gotcha. yeah in Tx you need very little bounce. it sounds like you already bought the 60.5 and gaming it. any chance you can buy a different wedge with lower bounce? starting at 12 degree is just too much and youd prob need to take off 20g of weight to achieve 6 degree. that would really mess with the overall weighting of your club.

i woudl go with what chiro suggested or something similar

Have not bought the wedge yet. Looks like I am going to go with a Gekku. Thanks everyone!

You won't be disappointed. I live in AZ and know dry/firm conditions all too well. I've tried a lot of wedges out here and nothing beats my Gekku when it comes to a 61* wedge.

Anyone have any experience with Steelfiber shafts in their wedges? I am thinking about the i95 regular flex.
