  1. 2000 rpm with 14* launch is going to give relatively near optimal numbers at almost any ball speed. This is a launch that can work well in soft areas and also firm dry areas. Part of the whole high launch - low spin hysteria misses the fact that golf isn't played on a simulator in a building. In places where wind is a big factor, being able to keep a ball low but with *some* spin on it is crucial to distance and control.
  2. I measured a t.388 hosel bore at ~.350, as did another member. Requires shimming or a world class application of glass beads while gluing to get it centered on a .335 driver shaft. This wasn't ever publicly disclosed or publicized at the time, but was brought up here on the boards at one point during the S Yard craze of 2013.
  3. There's a row of bushes guarding a green that's the bane of my existence at my home club. Maybe that 70 is just what the doctor ordered.
  4. One would think the raw yururi would feel softer than the plated crazy given they're exactly the same head with different grind and plating but very interesting it's the opposite.
  5. The new Srixon irons have been severely overlooked. Glad to see they're gaining some well deserved traction.
  6. I heard they were hand forged by a cheeky English motorcycle enthusiast in his back garden utility shed ?
  7. That and a driver can find fairways and still be unforgiving if it loses a lot of ball speed on misses. Personally speaking I don't find forgiving drivers to be that much straighter or more crooked than unforgiving drivers, I just tend to notice larger dropoffs in distance when I miss. Or this example: lots of people find Ping G30s hard to square because the head is so enormous, and lose them right a lot. Now that's the most forgiving mainstream driver in the world. But for those people the retained ball speed just puts them even further in the right rough, or OB. Is that forgiveness?
  8. My guess is material costs are declining and major manufacturers can produce these quite a bit cheaper than boutiques that are hand rolling them and whatnot. My cynical side also tells me that there is probably a lot of margin built into the super exclusive high end boutique stuff as well.
  9. Why doesn't this one have the W forging process? All the other ones do in this lineup
  10. I swing a bit over 100 and the 65SX FEX was a hook monster for me too until I tipped it a bit. The Quadras generally are very tip active and play soft to flex. I'd try tipping it half an inch.
  11. When will pricing and ordering and shipping be available on the FW?
  12. Very Interesting. Do we know anything about it yet? What about the Jbeam RX?
  13. Thanks for the info gents I'll look into some of these
  14. Thanks for the info. Doesn't necessarily have to be small just not some crazy shape. And a closed face is a definite no no. How is sound and feel on this unit?
  15. Man I think this thing sounds like a nightmare to turn over, on paper.
  16. Looking for a 15-16* FW for mostly off the deck use. Needs to be easy to use, without a closed looking face, with excellent sound and feel. Classic looks are a plus. Doesn't have to be the latest and greatest. The newer JBeams, RomaRo Type R, RC TI have caught my eye. Ideas?
  17. I'd really like to have one just trying to convince myself a 350cc driver could be my gamer.
  18. I had the C Taper in too stiff a flex the first time and hated them, wrote them off, and cursed them publicly every chance I got. Tried a flex down in another set of heads and adore them
  19. I am interested in FW head only, please send me a PM if you will sell head only and your price, thanks.
