robbie
This is just my 2 cents : If i had the power to swing at 115 and step up to 125, i would look for the straightest driver i could find or the one that i could move on command and that is purely a personal preference but since power is ample, i would want to find one that finds the fairway most often.....secondly i would get one that i enjoy looking at and it would be really cool if it sounded and felt great too !!!! I'm leaning towards the 435 black as a choice for you with the Aldila Rogue 125MSi in 70TX tipped an inch
jimmieboi
I'll replace TRPX S-013 with JBeam 435 Black onto the X-Line shaft (possibly upgrade to 7D later). The S-013 is a very very good driver. Straight and very very far (furthest of all the Driver I have in possession. I would say most JDM Driver have a slightly "close" face angle at address (Epon 504J,H, Ryoma Maxima, TRPX S-013, Crazy 435ii) although all measured to have a square to 0.5 degree open face angle. If it comes to JDM Driver I think JBeam is on top. You should be good with any model if it were JBeam.
Vegaman
TRPX are made by JBeam ;) Exactly. You can clearly see the relation when you hold a trpx head. Wasn't TRPX founded by some of the best Crazy engineers/designers? And then the heads are made by JBeam.
Mjr. D
I think the PRGR EGG1 is the only driver of the peer group which is "pure straight by design" - all other heads are good for players looking also for "workable trajectories". Just my 2 ct. The only reason not too buy the head, could be the head weight. I red, it is only around 192g. This head with 200g.. a fairway splitter!! I hear ya except that I'm worried about the face being slightly closed like the Egg 7. I don't want to pay $650, then have it arrive and be disappointed to find out it's exactly the same face angle as the Egg 7... which is slightly closed. Same as the Maxima. If the Maxima was dead neutral I wouldn't be looking for another drive. That club is amazing in all respects. I talked to Chris a little more and I've decided to go with the JBeam ZY-11. It and the Black are their latest designs and the face milling seems like a cool feature, as does their new titanium composite material used in these heads. Chris said the ZY-11 is more forgiving due to having a larger face, has less spin and produces a higher ball flight. It comes in 8 or 8.5. The Black I think only comes in 9.5 with slightly higher spin but lower launch. So since I'm pairing this head with either the Diamana X or Aldila Rogue 125 MSI the Higher launch won't be an issue since these are both low launch and extremely low spin shafts. The TRPX sounds like another good option but since JBeam makes that head anyway and it's a year older than these latest designs I might as well try them out. I appreciate all the help and replies guys! That's part of what makes TSG the best golf forum out there IMO. Good stuff! I'll let you know my findings when I get it. Rob.
