chuck4golf
Anyone have any ideas about how these two would compare? Both look tempting. I am guessing only Chris has hit them both. I like plenty of forgiveness but prefer a more penetrating flight than most heads marketed at guys with my modest swing speed.
Shankopotamus
I just asked the same Q on the other thread. I haven't hit the Honma, but the Glorious is grail-esque for the moderate SS. I plan on doing a full review of soon for all the slower swingers on these forums. I go about 90mph right now. I'm sure I'll be back up to my normal 94-95 soon. Even though the design is already high launch, I still got a higher loft (11.5) a la Chris' rec. He was right. The ball flies forever...and i mean forever, ever. I still get decent roll out too. I will probably upgrade this to full grail status once I get enough time behind the wheel.
+TourSpecGolfer
I'll be posting the other Honma drivers this week, I think it's best you look at all of them before comparing against the Glorious. For now, the custom options from Honma make it a pretty close battle as we can order them matte black, with lie/loft/face angle adjustments. The only drawback is Honma takes time 4-6 weeks for custom. We can also do custom shaft colors with Honma. Glorious VS Honma "460" Honma will have a little more spin, the launch a little higher but still not game improvement like the Beres S-03. Sound and feel I give to the Honma, I think overall distance it's too close to call, maybe Jbeam but I've had a dozen or more rounds with it where the Honma just 2-3 shared with others and no shaft changes so it's not really fair for me to say. Next up I will post the Honma TW727 455S Driver
chuck4golf
Shank, I have the same ss profile. 90 is pretty std, when I get it going, maybe 93. Several years ago I had a Nakashima at 13* and it too went forever. That was one I should have never sold, except its sound was awful. Chris, great. I will eagerly devour your next reviews on the rest of the Honma line. The 455S is definitely worth paying attention to your review on, btw. PS: I want your job. You get to play with all the toys.
