Mjr. D
Just getting into ordering all my new club building stuff. Is this preferred way to add swing weight to a club by putting brass plugs into the tips of the shaft or does that deaden the feel? Lead tape on the irons? Any other options other than increasing club length and or using a very light grip? Thanks guys!
sundowner
Tungsten powder in the tip is normally the best way. With lead tape on the head you can change also the trajectory.
Mjr. D
Interesting. How does it stay in place?
needmoregolf
I've always wondered the same, and how is it different than using tip weights?

clevelaand
Tip weights or lead tape, kind of depends on how much weight you want to add. Tungsten powder down the shaft is kept in place with a small cork that is pushed down the inside of the shaft.

Mob
Hot melting the head is one of the most common methods skilled club builders use to get swing weight up in woods. The benefit is it mutes the sound as well, which some prefer.
