Got a used Epon Zen just before the weekend and the excitement could hardly be contained.

Putted at home for about 30 mins trying to get used to the heavier weight/speed control and I must say I am hooked. (Was using an IPT Yamada Milled Tx-001 that I got from another TSGer a while ago)

Softness of the impact is sublime (almost silent) likely due to the deep milling of the Zen. I guess it is called "Zen" for a reason. Roll is true and so so smooth.

Gamed it for the weekend round and although still trying to adjust to it, calling it perfect is very much an understatement.

Now that the Epon Zen is in the bag, time to consider sending some existing putters to GF for customization!! Muahahaha..

The Zen is the last putter I will ever use and I honestly believe that.

I used to use the old 8802 Wilson and putted very well with that and then went on a mix of different Anser type putters back when G-Field was all the rage. However when the Zen came out, I just had to have it. And I found I've never putter better with any other putter. Its the entire package, the feel, the look, weight, you name it.

Its everything its name implies.

Yes absolutely.. Was considering changing the shaft whilst waiting for it to arrive but after doing some research, decided against it. (Was thinking about the UST FF Shaft but the feel I got from gaming it over the weekend stopped me)

But will most likely be changing the grip to a Gripmaster Cabretta Stitchback..

what about putter length? mine seems to play long over 35" but it's got a superstroke on it so obviously not stock. but wondering if there was an ideal length on these as the i33's I've seen all were 34"

I've got mine cut to 33" from slightly longer than 34" but it had the original grip on so I'd assume the shaft is original. (At least that's what the seller said) - I'm rather short, so the "long" shaft didn't work that well for me as I was gripping/standing too high and felt uncomfortable.

One thing that I'm slightly disappointed is that he lost the original headcover during a round (we prob have all lost a headcover or 2 during a round) but provided a Epon Shin Headcover instead.

Gonna bring it to a S.A.M Puttlab session for full analysis soon.

But the looks and feel of it just give so much confidence that I'm gonna make every single putt.

I changed to the same Shimada shaft but black one and cut it 0.5" (Chris helped me by asking Gold Factory ship this shaft to me). Also, changed the grip to leather Gripmaster and even added a few grams of rubber under the grip to do somewhat counter balance and get the SW I want

So far so good. I feel all Zen magic but even better as it's now at my preferred SW. To me, "a little tweak" would be just fine. More than that, you'll lose Zen magic totally.

I've changed tens of drivers, irons, and wedges over last 2 years but never bought any new putter since the ZEN. Not becoz it's exclusive or my ego, etc but the Zen is just that damn good

Ordered the Cabretta Stitchback but just itching to game it as soon as possible.. Going for another round with a client tomorrow (Just can't wait till the weekend and found an excuse to play midweek golf.. Hahaha...) Gonna take some pictures during the round to post here..

I play the Zen with UST-ff shaft and love it. I use the baseball mitt leather grip from BestGrips and have never liked a leather grip more. It stays tacky and keeps getting softer -- just like an old favorite baseball mitt.

But I have to say -- and I know this will sound strange -- the Ryoma P3 putter has been in my bag all this year so far. It's the most unusual soft feel I've ever come across in an Anser-type head, truly unique, and something about it seems to be perfection for me on the very fast greens of my home course.

But for those always on the hunt for that answer -- as I have been since I first put a putter in hand -- I simply think there is nothing else quite like it. And for that reason alone, it has to be experienced by those looking for "soft."

Count me in. But hey, I'm glad I ended up with that first Zen of yours, C... <g> I treasure it, too.

The Zen is a great putter. It isn't for everyone, those that have trouble with their stroke find the Zen difficult to make putts with.

I am back to using it this year and am finding the speed control to be perfect. I have it shafted with a Quadra Fire express Putter shaft, and the balance is ideal for me.

So who in the forum is going to sell me a Zen? Come on!

Well.. It took me quite a long time to get hold of one.. It pops up very very occasionally on TSG but I'm usually too slow to act..

Following this thread and chuckling at how many people feel this way about the Zen. I had my Cabretta Stitchback waiting for it before it arrived and that set up hasn't left my sight since. Only putter to give me any feeling on the same level as the Zen is one of Stew's custom putted from Masda!

The Zen is without a doubt a defining moment in putter design.

When my eyesight fails me and viagra has fixed a firm place in the pill cabinet.....And all golf clubs are made from unobtanium.

The head will become the handle of my walking stick and the shaft replaced by a nice whittled piece of oak.

This thing will outlast me for sure. Its a keeper ;)

Commission Endo to forge you a sweet thin blade then have Golds weld it to the head. Now you just gotta find the right piece of wood to sheath it. I'd grow a long moostash just to be able to rock this with you... muwahahaha
