Is the GT Type S a bit more of a players driver than the XT? Also, is the S2 the stiffer of the two "S" flexes?

S2 is the softer of the S flexes.

GT Type-S is indeed much more player than the XT.

If you like great feeling, good looking, players woods then yes, if you want a forgiving easy high launching distance bomber I'd look at others.

XV FW is still one of the best players fairways around and at this price it's an easy try.

XV is an easy to use fairway. Players look good feel. Not difficult to launch and forgiving. Other than looks I wouldn't classify it as a players FWY.
