Vegaman
So I just really liked the shape of this the "dolphin" wedge..I decided on a whim to custom order a 52/58 set, S400 shafts, D4&D5 SW, 0.25 over length and blue stripes ferrules. They came today and I took them out for a quick 9 holes. I must say the satin finish on these is the smoothest and most classy I have seen on almost any club. I had a few shots that dug more than I'd like but otherwise great performing wedges with really good spin. A few pitches that I was thinking would roll out on the green just stopped dead. I definitely must get used to the "drop dead" kinda spin, I ended much further from the hole than I expected. On fuller shots the 52 was fantastic from around 100 yards, again that same "drop dead" result, no backspin, just landed and stopped. Very solid feeling, sets up great. The course was pretty empty today so me and my friend dropped a lot of extra balls giving me the chance to try many extra chips and pitches as well as full shots with the DW-113s. Edit: I really don't know how to post photos that aren't rotated. Don't know why this happens, everything attaches as rotated the wrong way. needmoregolf
does that unique shape on the sole allow it to be opened up fully for creative touch shots?
Vegaman
Yes, that's the idea. I did open it up a few times with good results Edited July 2, 2015 by Vegaman

Yeah, I actually really liked the 52 at least as much as the 58. Must say it again, the satin finish on these is just amazingly smooth with a beautiful luster. The S400s are really good wedge shafts too I feel.Took a bit of a chance on those too

They are a pretty leftfield choice, but good. The 52 is really versatile, great for full shots and bump n spinny low kind of pitches Edited July 3, 2015 by Vegaman
supo
Gaming this set of theblack raw model bent the58to 56.5 Ultra and i do mean ultra razor thin base line These blew all others out of the water for edge sharpness. Spin is superb utterly spin monsters. Same shaft dg s400 Finish ish great hardly a mark on them cud shave with these. Pear, rounded pear, theycan be opened up and u can get funky, even with " that" sole(soul) it doesnt get int way what so ever. Im finding theseget pretty diggy with a steep swing like mine, im taking a few errrrrrr chunks out of the turf more than once or twice, esp with the52 but the sw is pretty much spot on. I think these are very good wedges and wud do any bag justice. Not sure delphinus delphin was the best possible moniker forthem tho. Raw, kasco, loft wude be tour. Yea these are good

Yea these are good Yeah, I hear you about the finish and sharpness. Like you said, the 52 can dig when I get steep, especially now during the rainy season here in Thailand, all courses are soggy, soft and wet..What I've noticed though is that they really cut through even when I get steep, resulting in huge divots, but the ball still flies..I'm thinking these must be outstanding for somebody playing medium or firm conditions. Can't wait for drier times to come around. And yeah, the finish is just outstanding, the satin on mine are just incredibly smooth, but still durable. I've seen the black ones too, look great as well, and good to hear it's also durable. One thing I noticed that can be a negative for some (not me really) is they aren't as long as my other 52s and 58s. They fly a bit shorter for me, pretty lowish flight but with incredible spin Edited August 13, 2015 by Vegaman
