Steffen90
Hey guys, I am from Germany and I´m following this forum some months now. Last year I got a little bit addicted to all the Japanese Stuff. I started to play with a Nakashima Driver and Wood, but this year I got an RomaRo Ray 455LX Driver and I just love it. The best Driver I have ever had. It´s so straight and so consistent and the feeling is just so great!!!! My 2 Problems in my Bag are my 3 Wood and my Hybrid, I just can´t hit them as consistent as my Driver. So could you recommend me some good 3 woods I should consider buying a new one? The same with the Hybrid, which should I consider? Are the Romaro Woods or Hybrid as good as the Driver? Or is there a better brand considering a new wood and hybrid? Sorry for my bad english, but I hope you understand me :D Thanks
supo
no probs understanding you at all..., ok utes , well thats pandoras box. i think i tried as many as possible with litttle success. the ones i did think were good were the royal collection, adams, epon, crazy. they all ahd their good points. fariway woods, well ull have to elaborate a LOT here., sleek face ,deep face. high launch easy to hit. distance or all rounder? theres so many good ones
Cforselius
Not knowing what you want, the S-yard XV is a performer. They apparently are out of buisness but they pop up on BST every now and then. I have the 18 deg ( 5 wood) and its simply awesome. Im a 4.5 hcp player and the club PERFORMS for me, even better is when my 18 hcp friend tried it, it also performed very very well. I know Chris sold out the last S-Yard clubs a month ago or so but scroll down the BST thread and you might find it and ask him. Cheers lad, hope you find the one :)
Steffen90
Thanks to both for your answers. I know that normally you go and try them out or you buy it and you sell it if you don´t like it. But here in Germany it is very difficult to find someone who buys it, it is even more difficult to find someone who sells it. My Hybrid that I am playing right now is fine. The bigger problem is my 3 wood. I need something where I can go to the tee without thinking that I could hit it way right or left into some trees for example. I need something easy, soft to hit. I don´t need something with distance. With my Driver I hit it normally 250m more or less 270 yards, when it is dry 290m (315 yards). I don´t need more distance :D . I need an all rounder, as supo67 said. @supo67 where I can read something about the different faces of the woods? I never concerned about this :/. High launch also depends on the shaft you play with or? So maybe someone else can tell me something about the Romaro Woods or Hybrids? Are they as good as the Driver? I am not sure but maybe in August or September I will visit my sister in Santa Cruz, Ca. maybe someone lives nearby and has some clubs I could try out ;) :). Thanks
mpbachman
Steffen, there are a handful of us within shouting distance of Santa Cruz that could probably organize an outing and you can get to see some stellar gear :) Keep needmoregolf and I posted on if you plan a trip out here and we can figure something out (D, I am volunteering you as well ;) There are others that can probably jump on too... I've got one you can try if you make it out this way :) Edited July 9, 2015 by needmoregolf
blackman
Hi Steffen, I am in the Munich area. In case you are interested in test a RomaRo Type R FW and Hybrid or a Yamaha Hybrid I might be able to help. Cheers Andy
Steffen90
@mpbachman: I already added you both as a friend. That would be so great, because I would also like to play some rounds there, so if you know some good courses just tell me. Last year I stayed with my family in Aptos Ca. and my mother and I played the seascape golfcourse there. Not to expensive but still a nice course. What courses can you recommend me there? If I visit my sister I will tell you and we could play a round and I could test come clubs ;), that would be great. @blackman: You got a PM
