I've been using my Miura 501's from 25 down to 7 hcp but I feel like they are not forgiving at all and thinking about moving on after 5 years of playing those.. I like the look of the 501's very slim and all. I see a lot of positive feedback on the Kuros - are these way more forgiving? Maybe someone can shine in and give me some tips of different irons to look at?

Compared to the 501s the Kuros could almost be called chunky. Of course that's only in comparison to the 501s since those look almost exactly like a MB blade looking down. So looks-wise they are pretty different, and yes will be be way more forgiving. If you get used to how they look I guess few things are better. If you want to keep the more sleek look with a bit more forgiveness than the 501s you need to look at other stuff, like the Honma 727Vn or along those lines. Maybe the Seven Cavity Blade, A-Grind CB, fourteen tc-888 etc

Would you say the 501's are a bit forgiving? or not at all basically?

In terms of Ping s55 and Titleist ap2 - I find these two irons to be VERY forgiving are the Kuros as forgiving but just way smoother and softer? Or would you say the Honma 727Vn and the others are like these? :-)

The 501s are essentially for people that enjoy the look, feel and playability of a blade, but with a touch more forgiveness thrown in. The Kuros are mid size CBs or slightly less with tungsten tech to add forgiveness and launch. They are provably as forgiving as the AP2s and the S55s. But MUCH better looking in my opinion. The Honma 727Vn is more compact, more like a blade players CB again, a bit like the 501s but a more modern design perhaps. Very compact, very little offset, but more forgiving than a true MB

How are the epon 501's compared to my 501's? And how do they compare to epon 502 and 503? Are they way more forgiving than my miura 501's as well as the kuros forged?

I can get a decent set of epon 501's with steelfibers i80 in stiff for about 200 dollars

$200, really? For a set? Who in the world would be selling those that cheap unless they are fake or beaters… Let me know if you don't take them.

503s IMO, forgiving, long and feel good.

For 200 you should be letting us know if the sole was too wide.

They were in really good shape.. and for the price of 230 dollars they did me well. :-) Feel way easier to hit than my Miuras and the sole is wide but the design make it look really nice from above.. :-)

Using the steelfibers i80 in them also seem to be a great fit!

I've been using the Epons now for a week.. this is my hcp..

34 points first round... 41 second.. 45 today... 9.2 down to 6.4 in 3 rounds.. I beat my record by 2 the second time using them.. and today i beat that record to shot an even par 72 - did a double on 18... :-)

Thats great to hear that you are doing so well with the Epons. I had the exact same experience a few years back after changing to Epon 503s after playing the Miura 501s for about two years.

Very recently, I built a new combo set of Epon AF Tours and 302s 4-5 and it is working quite nicely. Even though the short irons are blades, I still think they are more forgiving and pleasing to play than the miuras.
