Yonex Tri-G 445cc

Okay, this is my first time trying a Yonex club since playing a whole bag full of Yonex clubs with the 2011 eZone series. I had the 380 driver, eZone ST fairway, Zero DI, EZone MB irons and Wedges and even a EZone putter. They were sooooo good!!

I think this Tri-G driver is from last year. I was watching a Youtube video with Hyo Joo Kim ( one of the best swings in golf!! ) and got interested in trying it.

So these come in 460cc and 445cc both feature SP700 face and Carbon Crown.

but the body are made of different material. 460 uses 8-1-1 Ti and the 445 used 6-4 Ti.

The composition of the head sounds similar to my Grandista Ver S. I got the 445cc head.

I have tried drivers with sliding weights in the past and the problem with them were that when you place the weight one way and shift it to the other end, the feel when you swing the club changes drastically.

To maintain more consistent swing feel, this Tri-G uses concentric adjustable weights where the weight adjustment occurs along the concentric line centered at the hosel.

The biggest sell of this driver is that you are supposed to be able to control the amount of back spin with

how you place different weights in three weight ports positioned concentrically.

Default weights were 2g, 2g, 12g . Placing the 12g weight at the front most port gives you least spin.

If you want higher launch and higher spin, place the 12g to the back.

Anyway, while I won't actually be able to hit it outside for another few weeks, I thought I's share some pics . It actually looks pretty good. Reminds me of the P-Tune PG-313 but perhaps a tad deeper.

I would say this is a semi-deep head.

The other thing I have in plan fo this hread is to use 12g weights for all three ports.

Head weight would be around 220g!! We'll see how this works as a shortly driver!
