Sounds like you have to find the right shaft and stick with that.

Thanks for confirming mate.

Let me see if i can swap shafts easily. The moment i find a 60gm regular or SR flex Roddio driver shaft, i will attempt

Keep it posted here

I felt like its kind of like the Crank driver ya?

i not a fan of odd shaped drivers. i wanted to get it previously. but settled for the Roddio instead.

No regrets. but as you know, the itch is always there.

Want to try other toys

I dont call it a crank driver :P

I dont like it at first, i dont like a odd shape driver either, instead I got the roddio....hahaha.... but dont like it, after read some review, was struggling for a while then decide to give it a try, man you have to try it.... the feel and performance are amazing..... it got me a feeling of letting go my Ryoma ST beyond power but.......... I still love it, so trying to find a space for both amazing driver :P

the ZY11 driver is a pretty special driver and i honestly don't notice the unusual headship but it is perfect for my swing....Needmoregolf has Roddio type M and Zy11 and 435 black but he games the ZY11

+++1 on giving the ZY-11 a try.

I have both the ZY-11 and Krank Formula 5, which the ZY-11 face shape was supposedly based on by request from Yamazaki. Their face shapes are similar, but they are very very different from each other. My Formula 5 is a 9* head but it launches like a 10.5*, it is NOT a low-spin head...it spins a little more than I would like actually. The sound is harsh, almost painful to my ears at times...think glass breaking. I cotton-balled the head and it sounded like hearing glass break on the other side of a wall!! Haha. Got rid of the cotton after that. As for feel, the face feels very hard, like the head is a solid chunk of metal, but in a good way. It is definitely not one of the longer heads, but it is very forgiving and very straight. I've hit it on the extreme toe/heel and the ball would go straight and still carry about 85% of a middled hit. Although sound and feel is harsh I did find that it gives the best feedback of any driver I have hit. You can tell exactly (within millimeters) where you hit the ball on the face.

Now, the ZY-11 is an amazing driver. It has the same trapezoidal face as the Formula 5, but it has the same classic round/square J-Beam 435 shape at address. Sound and feel is totally opposite from the Formula 5. Sound and feel is muted (not dead) due to the foamed head, but it has a nice solid-hot "tink" that jumps off the face. Sound and feel reminds me of a slightly muted version of classic, sub-400cc era drivers of years past. Loft (and shaft) selection is critical for this head as it launches low-ish and has VERY low spin. My head is a 10.5* but it launches more like a 9.5*. The low spin is the biggest issue for me and I am now trying shafts with a higher launch/active tip to help keep the ball in the air longer. The head has tons of roll which is really nice. It is also a VERY forgiving and straight, probably the straightest and longest head I have hit.

biggest pain with the roddio heqds is how wide the hosel is, tough to find a fatty ferrule to fit it perfectly and can't find roddio ones easily aftermarket

I tried the krank. took it to guam wit hme for a week.

was hoping to see some 400 mile drives with it.

alas , didn't oiccur that often, got some good ones with it but the feel and set up was very ordinary I thought, I put it away pretty quickly and didn't take it out again.

was pretty disappointed.

the onoff, well almost all on offs are very high on my "like-o-meter"

they just seem to play so well.

the whole reason LABO exists is so u get t he best fitting available.

there are times when u get and forget, LABO is one of those .

the head type here ISNT... one of my faves, I prefer the shingo 358, now that one is right at the top of my tree.

its abit more forgiving. nqad sets up slghtly "tilted" to draw. I love that look.

Supo,

Yes the Krank is very average in performance. Sound and feel is very harsh. But it is more forgiving than most would give it credit for and that feedback is something I wish I could get in other heads. But yes, average of average. The ZY-11 is what the Krank was supposed to be, disappointing especially with all it's success in the long drive championships. We're not all built like Tim Burke unfortunately :(

I just got my Shingo 358 (mostly in part to all your praises) and it is impressive. I have only played 9 holes with it then a short 15min range session right after. Going to be trying a couple of shafts to get this tuned in for my swing. The face is HOTTT and has a beautiful, hot, explosive sound. I know this one will be a keeper along with my ZY-11 or some time. I also highly recommend the Shingo 358 to anyone to at least try.

I played my 358 yesterday with........... (what im still convinced is a slightly too soft shaft but isnt!!) the tataki 60s, and killed it......

very windy yesterday between 4 and 14 degrees C throughout the day.

this didn't mind getting beat in the the puff at all.

the tataki might be my fave shaft now, its really hard to split the preference bet. the stinger , the diamana X and this for my taste.

in fact I dotn have another shaft other than these any more and im hardly likely to this year either.

its an ultra hot face and the tataki shaft is the perfect match for me.

as I said a modern epon 101.
