I always considered myself as a hitter but I do not take divots. In the last four weeks I have concentrated on hitting down on the ball more. Finally got out last Friday - and while it was wet I relly concentrated on hitting down and through while taking a good size divot.

Anyone have this problem. Is not taking a divot a true problem ?

the course i play most often (because its cheap) is all hadrpan so i have to pick it pretty clean. id like to take a good divot but i cant. it kind of screws me up when i go play a nice course. causes all kinds of problems.

I don't have a problem with the divots, I have a problem with keeping them consistent, I attempt the same as DV has said.

Sergio plays the same way, he visualizes literaly trying to drive the ball into the ground and creating a divot on the front side of the ball position.
