mr3putt
OK I have the itch for some new irons. Judging from the tourstage fans in this forum, they are great. So how do I know what to go for ? I currently play Hogan FTX w/ DGx100's. Looking for something smoother. HELP !!!
FAQ
OK I have the itch for some new irons. Judging from the tourstage fans in this forum, they are great. So how do I know what to go for ? I currently play Hogan FTX w/ DGx100's. Looking for something smoother. HELP !!! Here's some comparison shots between the MR-23's CB's, MR-23 Blades, and Z101's. I have to say that I would seriously consider the new X-Blade Cavity Backs as well. They are supposed to be great! Chris has them. Red line on hosel = MR-23 Blades, Gold line = MR23 CB's, Double lines Mother of Pearl = Z101's.
ProSpec
FAQ coming thru as usual with the sweet TS pics. Those 23 US Blades have got to be about the best looking blade/MB out there.
forgedCBuser
i was going to post my satinZ vs -23 pics but they're horrible compared to FAQ's... the -23's have more offset and a larger cavity but (barely) shorter heel to toe than the Z's. i was thinking about making a mixed set [Z 3-6i & -23 7-9i] since the Z's have tungsten in the long irons to help get the ball up. (or if i could just find an x-blade cb 3i, i would do a 3i X-cb, 4-5i Z, 6-9i mr23 cb's... that would be ideal)

rsvman
Not to threadjack, but how do the TS202s fit into this conversation? How would you compare them with the Z-101s and the MR23s? Anybody seen/hit all three that can comment? Thanks.
ttriba
Mr3 putt, I have both the mr23cb and the z101. They both are just awsome clubs. I use to play Apex blades. I have to say if you had to make the choice I would go with the Mr-23cb. Just for the feel ; the playing charateristics are still very similar. Also the availability of Mr-23 is becoming scarce. Either way you can not go wrong. As for the x-blades; they look better than they play. Good Luck!
pureblade
Not to threadjack, but how do the TS202s fit into this conversation? TS202s lean towards the "game improvement" side. Larger clubface and sole, lower COG, more offset, etc. Z101s are "player's" cavity backs. My X-Blade CBs also have a larger clubface and sole than I expected. However, I'm playing great golf with them, so they'll stay for the time being.
FAQ
Not to threadjack, but how do the TS202s fit into this conversation? How would you compare them with the Z-101s and the MR23s? Anybody seen/hit all three that can comment? Thanks. I've owned all 4. The Z's, both MR's and the 202's. I currently still have the Z's and the 202's. I think the 202's don't really belong in the same category as these other clubs. The 202's are very forgiving and they have a special grind too. No digging divots here. The Heads are heavier and they help you gain some distance if your swing speed isn't really up to it. I just put 5.5 Project X in the 202's to see how they feel. I'm also trying to bring the ball flight down a bit. All of that being said, I think the Z's are just as forgiving as the 202's. I know there are some that won't agree with me on that, but I find the Z's incredibly easy to hit and control. The control is the main difference in these two irons. The Z's being much more the player type of CB with workability, and the 202's more the... hit it straight and as long as you can... type. I like both the Z's and the 202's for their differences. I don't have any photos of the 202's yet, but I will soon. Hope this helps.
