AKFLY
I am looking to make the move to a 660 from NV 65. The 65 S in the TP seems like it is missing something - sounds weird but the distance is not there - ball flight is O.K. does not balloon but seems like it just runs out of gas and drops - I do get some roll however. My misses are right more so than left which is what I was after. I tipped the NV 3/4 of an inch in a TP9.5 head playing at D4 and 44.75". My swing speed with a driver avg.s 104 What can I expect from the 660 TR ? How much should I tip it ?
corky3
I haven't tried a 660TR..... but I know what you mean about the N65 running out of gas. I moved from a 65 to a 75 and there's a world of difference....better feel, better trajectory, better carry & better roll. I've also tried a 75 NVS(the orange one) but that doesn't have the penetration(oo err  ). The NV75 suits me..... But the Ho in me would like to know what the 660TR is like, gotta keep searching eh?

miz14
AK: What's your ss and ballflight tendency? I have been experimenting with 660TR, 693 and Tour Release 26.3 in 9.5 TP heads. My ss is 108-110. I haven't played an NV in TP head, but I did have a NV 65 proto in a 983K last fall with good results, ball flight was a little too low for my liking, but it is a very solid combo. For me the Tour Release plays the softest (stiff flex tipped 1.5") of the bunch. According to Joe K., cpm reading was only 253 with tipping. Shaft feels loose when you waggle, but it holds up well even when you go after it. High trajectory, but not ballooning by any means. Easily workable with draw or fade. It has a nice lively kick at impact. The 660TR is one my favorite Fuji's. Have played it in 580 Tour, TP and 580 XD Tour. I tipped the stiff about 1". Shaft is very stable and gives a nice mid-high ballflight. In my 580 XD Tour this thing is straight as a string with plenty of roll upon landing. Shaft performs with a smooth, controlled swing or also stands up when you try to step on one and hit it hard. Currently testing a Fuji 693 (stiff tipped 1") in a 9.5 TP. To my surprise, this was a very good combo with the TP head. After speaking with Joe, he said the 693 is kinda like a lighter version of the Pro 95. Shaft loads and unloads nicely and ballflight is perfect. Mid-high trajectory that flattens out with a ton of roll. I also got a chance to hit my friends 580 XD Tour with Fuji Six. His Six is an X, tipped 1.25". All I can say is WOW! This thing was a monster. I thought the SIX was going to be too light and boardy feeling, but I was wrong. The 4.6 torque is not noticable and this shaft really holds up even on hard swings. No wonder it's the #2 played Fuji on Tour. His 580 XD is 8.5 loft. Good luck in your search. Thanks. AKFLY
AK:What's your ss and ballflight tendency? SS= avg 104 mph Normally high ball with a draw. With the NV I do not hook, trajectory is good, but it seems like the ball dies and drops. I did try a NV75 in a K but did not give it allot of time to really distinguish. corky3
Swing speed is just over the ton.... trajectory is mid to low normally. The NV 75S gives me a trajectory which is slightly slower than I wish, but with the penetration & roll I still get good length.

Guest
The 660 is the smoothest of the fujis I have tried. Went from the 660 to the 671 and the 671 felt harsh. Performed very well but we are talking BIG bucks on these, the 671 is about $70 more expensive! Although the 660 is in the ultra-expensive class it is more user friendly than most high end fujis. You get great kick, unbelievable feel, and you can really go at it without holding back.
BostonHack
well, the 671 is still a Fuji, high end at that, but it is much tighther than the 660 and it's hard to get unpredictable shots with it, unless you are not swinging well. The 660 is smoother and will let you get away with some bad shots in that it is not as demanding as the 671. The NV has a stiffer character, vs the 660. It feels a bit harsher. I'd go with the 660 if I were you. It all depends on what you expect from a shaft or want. The NV is not a bad shaft though.
greatdane
have you tried a 652 yet. similar to the 660, with a touch more tip flex. in a X it may suite you. much smoother than the NV and even smoother than the 660 with the same attributes.
