jy
Do these shafts play similar? I'm using the nv65 now and it works really nice for me. I'm getting great mid-high trajectory and distances with my mp-001. Can someone describe the characteristics of both these shafts to me? (torque, kick, and anything else thats helpful) I was thinking of getting a slightly heavier shaft and came across a driver with the 757x so I thought i should try it out. Will the 757X be too much shaft for a 110-115 ss? Thanks guys.
jy
thought these were popular shafts? Any insights as to how they play? Anyone?
Lowpro
the 757 is a different animal than the nv65. actually the nv-75 plays closer to the speeder757. should be perfect for your swing speed and no worries that is will be too much--actually i thought the nv65 would be too soft and lack of control for your swing. what the 757 will do is bring down the ball flight some and bring in your shot disperssion .. pretty much point and swing type of feeling.. post up on how it works out.. ken
jy
Yep, thats the reason why I felt a new shaft was needed. When I put a nice and easy swing on the shaft, the NV 65 flat out performs. Its more unpredictable when I go for it on par 5s. Hearing stories about how "boardy" and stiff the 757 is, I think this is what I need :smile1: A new challenge perhaps? Anyway, will post how the combo works when my club arrives!!
onthelinks
I am currently having my first experince with the Fuji 757 stiff. VERY boardy and stiff is my reaction. I have played other shafts with similar specs and tipped them. In my opinion this is a WAY overated shaft. It is very unresposive and makes the Proforce 65 (a well known piece of rebar) seem smooth in comparison. JMHO your mileage may vary. xxio
The 757 is a hard shaft to "load" properly. I think this comes from the low torque. If you can load it properly the 757 is a beast of a shaft. I had one S flex tipped 1 inch at 44.75" in a R300 Tour if I was "off" everything was weak and right. If I was "on" long towering shots that were very predictable. The Fuji Six S flex tipped 1 1/2" inchat 45" I replaced it with is easier to load and thus more "forgiving" but it also seems 10 yards shorter on solid vs solid. jy
I can see where the both of you are coming from, thanx for the heads up guys. I remember hitting the 757 a longggggg time ago on the range. It was with my buddy's JVS. I only hit 2 shots with it as he had to go somewhere in a hurry. First shot, exactly like xxio said, wow long towering shot with piercing trajectory. That was the first time I ever hit a 757 X and first impressions of the shaft was it felt real solid, not exactly boardy but very firm and tight. Second shot was a duck hook (overswung it I guess). So basically I'll agree with XXIO on this one, you need to load it correctly to make it perform. Keep my fingers crossed that I will have more "First shots" or its gonna be in b/s/t soon.... :money:
xxio
I hope you get what you want. What made me decide to stay with the Six is that I only play once a week and do not practice at all (rather spend time with my daughter). The 757 became too penal on sloppy swings at a 6.2 index that was especially painful on the wallet in my sandbagging sixsome. The R300 Tour/Six is almost point and shoot on draws and straight shots. It tends to balloon a little when I hit a fade/cut which HAD been my bread and butter shot. That being said my R510TP/26.3 is on the way (thanks to you WBC).
