Godfather1
Right now I have a mizuno mp-001 with a DG s300 shaft, I like the shaft characteristics but I am looking for something a bit lighter.
CLMelton
The DG S300s weigh in at 127 grams. If you are looking for something lighter but want to stick with steel then you can go with TT Dynamic Gold Lite which average about 15 grams less in respective flexes than the regular Dynamic Gold. True Temper also makes the Crossfire shafts for woods that weigh in under 100 grams. Royal Precision makes Rifle shafts for woods but they are only a few grams lighter than the DG S300s. I've been thinking about changing out my S300s in my fairway woods for a set of Royal Precision Rifles. I have rifle shafts in all of my irons so why not stick with the same thing through the fairway woods. I'm hitting them off the deck just like the irons so why not stick with a similar shaft. I'm pretty sure I'll get them within a week or so and try them out. Now I have to buy a heat gun so I can pull the shafts from the 975f's. Lowpro
the tx-90 and cross-fire are very good options.. the crossfire may provide a higher ball flight though..
ericm007
I'll 2nd the Crossfire, I have it in a hybird and it does pretty well, like LP said it will get the ball up some. If you reshaft yourself make sure you cut it like you would a graphite shaft and not steel, or you could mess up the shaft. Don't ask me how I know. :o
Breal
The crossfire is a good shaft ,I have one in my 7 wood and it works great. It does make the ball go high but a good carry high, not bringing down rain high. Or alot of people are having great success with Nippon shafts as well the NSPRO1050 shafts are good for fairways also, and are little lighter.Just my opinion. Good luck. rice12oketman
id agree on the TX90's but if u want a more penatrating ball flight u should try the tx90 tours with a lower flight or the DG sensicore shafts. all good steel shafts
