Review:

*** = 3 stars

****.5=4.5 stars

Look: ****.5 It is black, mysterious, packed with energy.

Feel: ****.5 Explosion+++++ ball is hot off the face.

Sound: *** A cracked wood sound.

Distance: ****.5 Long, very long, much roll after landing.

Trajectory: ***** Mid-high trajectory.

Workability: ***** High/low/draw/fade all ok

Forgiveness: ***** Sweet spot like a size of an egg.

Conclusion: ****.5

This is a perfect driver for windy days, it is designed for stronger/violent players such as myself, so I feel really good about its performance. Deep is good.

How does it compare to X-Drive 390 or to your Honma RF420? Have heard good things about the Honma.

Honma is long also, about same as the Deep, but both not as loooong as r7. Deep is much more forgiving than the Honma.

I agree the Deep is a great club except for its sound at impact. Other than that I consider it the equal to the R7. The W60 shaft you have in it Jack is the key IMO. I get so much more distance from the W60 over the W70. The honma is hard to control, I would suggest the W70 or a 584HK in it. Tai has an awesome driver also the two of you are some major freaks. Jack please post pics of your proto Nike T100's, your a lucky man!

On Wednesday I visited a local golf shop in Miami. They had new one for $399, but I figured it wasn't the same club. I did my due diligence and to my surprise and pleasure, it was the same club! I just ran out and made a deal at $330!

Now I need help with a shaft. I play the NV65 & YS6(both US versions) in a regular flex.

What shaft should I get? Mits Rayon? GD Intl? I'm not a Fuji fan.

Please help.

Thank you
