Posted July 18, 200420 yr comment_49456 I'm sure this has been asked, but I can't find the thread. What is the difference bewteen these two drivers? Please let me know. Thank you
July 18, 200420 yr comment_49464 Both models High COR USGA non-conforming. Xr05 is an updated version of the Xr03. Both very very long because of the exceeding COR limits. As far as feedback...I have hit the Xr03 and it is a long driver. Feel is comparable to the old TM 300 tour drivers (not as good). Pricing wise, your better off going with a R7 or 510tp.
July 18, 200420 yr Author comment_49467 Thank you for your comments. Six are on EBay and going pretty low. I was thinking of picking one up and trying it. Thanks
July 19, 200420 yr comment_49523 I had a XR03 with the stock X flex for about 2 rounds. Very long and quite forgiving. The stock X played like a YS 6 X. Surprisingly that 8.5 set up square. I'm a low ball hitter and got offered a good price for it.
July 19, 200420 yr comment_49544 XR-03 was positioned differently than the 05. the 03 came with a variety of lofts and shaft choices (Tour, plus, lite) making it suitable for alomost any player profile. The 05 was intended for the executive golfing market, and this meant lighter, softer shafts putting the 05 in the same category as Honma and S-Yard and less a player's club. My friends with the 03 are very loyal to it and are loathe to swap it for TM's newer drivers.
July 19, 200420 yr comment_49550 The Xr-05 is ridiculously easy to hit and very, very, very LONg. One of the longest and straightest drivers I've ever played. The 05 comes with a shaft made my Mitsubishi Rayon and you get a very high trajectory with this club. Nick
