yogi
I'm in the market for a new driver. Im almost positive that I dont want a new R7TP so what is the longest, most forgiving driver of the bunch, listed above? What are the differences of them? Need one ASAP so any help in understanding the differences would be appreciated. Thanks, G
yogi
I did a search and wasnt able to find much. Mainly interested in the 300 tour and the 510 df. Is one longer? More forgiving? Softer feeling? Thanks for the help. G
CurtR
Over the past 2 years I have found good success with my TM 300 tour with a SKW shaft. Good distance and forgiving. I hit the 300 tour as well as my R510TP and R510DF. I recently purchased a tour issue TM R7 and I must say after two rounds it beat out the 300 tour and both R510's. yogi
Im surprised to here that. I like to tinker, but I have played the retail R7 and kind of thought it was lame. One of the screws was loose, no not my screw. lol The weight is actually made of two peices and a screw. The weight came apart and no matter how much I tightened it it still rattled. Not a big deal but, heres the question. What happens if it comes loose in a round? Are you able to tighten it? Maybe a dumb question, maybe not. After that, I just thought I dont want to deal with it anyway. Seriously, if everyone is setting up the new R7 with a neutral position anyway, whats the purpose? I love the club and the whole idea but I really dont need it so Im looking for the same type of performance, if possible from a solid style club. Thats why I like the 300 tour, not even any tungsten and rubber to come out. Any more input on these types of clubs would be appreciated. Thanks again. Centrecut
It is hard to beat the R510DF tour head. It's more forgiving than the 300 tour and almost as solid. Another you might want to give consideration to is the TM 580XD Tour head. It's very forgiving and much more solid feeling than the retail version. yogi
my 983kdriver and the rest of my clubs for that matter, left me for a month, and I switched to the 580 retail and now Im back on track again. I have yet to hit any tour clubs but sure would like to give it a try. I had another friend get his retail R7 today with a YS-7 in it and he hates it. I would never bash Taylor made, but the retail R7 really seems to be a dog. I wont be going to an R7 now after my experiences with it. I am on the hunt for a 9.5 510DF with an actual loft closer to 10 if anyone has one. Maybe even cheap? :spit: :money: Whats the longest head in your opinions? Has to be the Taylormade line sorry. naylit
IMHO, the 300 tour properly set up cannot be beaten. I just picked up a minty 9.5 a little open and rat glued it to D4. I don't think I have ever hit a more solid club. Hell, I have 2 backups in 8*. I have hit the DF and TP and while solid weren't as workable for me. I think a mis**t off the tee should be in the rough. If you flush one with this club, no other club will provide you with such a solid feel. Rat glue also helps the club feel more solid at address and impact.
pdt
How can I tell the differences (visually) between TM510TP w/ underline .6, near DF 510 Tour, deepface 510 tour van. There so many claims about Tour and DF, I just want to be able to tell the differences.
