+TourSpecGolfer
Two rounds completed with my new FST+ fairway wood. Its 14* and features a deeper face, tungsten weighting, and more rounded sole. The stock TXD-65 shaft plays very stiff , this club is for the better hitter very similar to how the BBD type H was. With a stated 1 degree open face angle it still looks square as in the pic. I have noticed the same distance and higher ball flight over my old 13.5 FST. It is just looks more refined and also feels very hot off the face. This cannon is better than the last model in many ways and if you like the FST or the BBD im positive you will like this new one. hornyjuan
How's it compare to the GD fairway wood and the FHT?
+TourSpecGolfer
How's it compare to the GD fairway wood and the FHT? TS girl is playing the FHT+ and swears its an absolute gem that I should reshaft and play full time. I have been more concerned with testing out the ST+, It seems the new ST+ is easier to hit from the fairway, rough or bad lies compared to the ol FST. 13.5 vs 14.0 degrees loft didnt quite make a difference, the distance was the same. I have an M85 in the FST and the stock TXD 65 in the ST+, I really like the stock shaft. In regards to the GD FW, I honestly think that the ST+, GD, & BBD type H are very similar in both looks and performance and it just boils down to square GD, open face ST+, or closed - square BBD as well as the feel off the face. I have a GD but its not the production model, there are slight differences between my early copy and the retail or tour versions which really effect feel and performance. I will know august 20th when they are released. Great thing is I have some coming with Tourspec HK80 shafts. Today I will play an R flex HT+ for 9 holes to try to figure out what makes this club so expensive. I will post pics and talk about it later. +TourSpecGolfer
OK these should be hitting peoples doors around now and I know a few of you have had a couple rounds with the new re designed FST+, so what cha think? I think it could be overall the best and most well built Fairway wood for a better player ever made. Cant imagine a better shape, head weight, color and look, not to mention the performance of this thing. Its deeper than the old FST and has a less drag through the rough because the sole was made more narrow similar to the 980F & MR23 but bigger. it has a sound and feel that I wish every Tourstage driver had. The face is stated 1 degree open but looks square, I think this is the only open faced stock FW out. It also only comes in SR, S, & X flex TXD-65 shaft. Now can someone clear this up for me and tell me what graphite design shaft the TXD-65 is???? :-D was it the YS 6.?. all I know is its a very good shaft as far as stock goes. I give very high praise to this club because when I do hit it perfect it does feel better than everything else. The FST+ is geared toward low handicap players even more so this year than the previous model from the - loft - face angle - shaft & full cord grip...pretty hardcore as far as stock clubs go. :nos**t: . Wonder how it will stack up against the GAF1 :D w/ HK80's I got coming next week
