  1. Guys, Moved to China last year, and find it almost impossible for a ho like me to get my babies well taken care of. No body has proper grips/shafts/ferrules selections. And finding a certified club builder in Shanghai is like finding a unicorn... Can anyone help? Please? Thank you. LC
  2. No one notice it yet? It's on Epon's website, in their on-line catalog. Looks really old school. One loft: 10.5 Face angle: square Standard length: 42.25, not a typo, short shaft length. 415cc head Tour AD BB shafts (BB6s, BB7s & BB7x) Face is Titanium alloy (6-4Ti) forged. Reference price 115,000yen This obviously is not for everyone, low spin, for the athletic players. From the catalog, it looks really clean (only a pic from the sole, nothing from the address), pear shape. "Stay away if you are not strong enough. It is possible to lose everything. It is up to you if you go to the next level Or throw everything away" - from Epon's description of this driver. Did I just accidentally leak the info of probably the hottest driver this year? We need Chris/Tario now...
  3. I don't have anything to say in this Scratch vs. TSG business, I don't have any scratch clubs in my bag. But for those who attacks Chris' integrity and ethnic standard, I can give you my personal opinion on that matter. I bought TWO Yururi iron from TSG about a year and half ago, both proto blade. I love the look and the fact that they are limit production, I got my best friend one set, and one for myself. The transaction was fast and very good, as usual. When Chris broke the news of dropping Yururi from TSG proshop, I was really upset, and wrote Chris an email, within 12 hours, he replied and explained everything to me. He was courteous and considerate, and was willing to "compensate" me (I used compensate, because that's the word I used when I was writing my emails to him, while I was pretty upset.), when he didn't have to do. You have to understand that it takes a lot from a man to admit his fault, and it takes an extraordinary amount of courage out of man to admit when the fault isn't his. Chris did not just bull-*hit me and point his finger to anyone else (Yururi), he did NOT just want the sales, he wants me as a customer to be satisfied. If I can, I will post our back and forth emails up and show them to everyone who questions his motive. Let the numbers talk, let the cold facts talk. We can wait. HULC1105
  4. Have anyone seen this? Founders M-Series Driver. http://ottawa.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-spo...QAdIdZ147489017 GolfTown Canada is carrying them, under 100CDN and you can get an FMB... BTW, does anyone know what happened to the EPON line in Proshop? TSG is no longer carrying EPON? Or it's just me and my stupid computer? HULC it's good to be back
  5. Hmmm... I don't know... The J36 has a different looking sole, but I will admit the cavity did look a lot alike... http://www.bridgestonegolf.com/en/product/j36cavity.aspx LC P.S Chris, I got my 3-wood today. Thank you very much~ It looks great. Can't wait to try it out.
  6. There are four prototypes listed on the USGA confirming list. Prototype 08-14-05 (prototype) Prototype 08-14-06 (prototype) Prototype 08-14-08 (prototype) Prototype 08-14-10 (prototype) Look like Vader's helmet, if you ask me... LC
  7. Me too have both finishes in my two GF putters. I personally like the BB finish a lot, really awesome quality with that finish. But the Teflon Black really gives the putter some "Stealthy-ness". I will say the closest finish you can find in the domestic market is the PING Redwood Black Satin, but less "shiny". Both are great finishes. You can't go wrong. HULC
  8. T, I think the GF01A are all gone. GF website has the GF01B (SUS303 and the Fe versions) only now. Nice design, really really slick. Congrats~ HULC
  9. I recently got a really good deal on a 6 years old R510 (non-TP). And it has the best SOUND that I have ever heard. Ting~ I don't want to say the sound of a driver would in any way affect my swing ability, but I just keep hitting it solid. Great driver. My gamer now is an FT-5 Tour, if you hit it low on the face, people within 2miles will hear you. It's a really REALLY loud high thwock. But if you wanna impress your friends, get an EMB. LC.
  10. Mizuno is going to bring out the all-new A25 line, a square driver, square FW, square Hybrid, and GI irons. Wanna go up against the Nike Sumo line??? Anyone have any word on the A25 line? Are they going to be forged? The only thing I can see, from Mizuno's JPN site, is that the entire line will be introduced next Feb. Lung-chia
  11. I think it's something more like a G-Field PZ#1 head. I think it's in between... Lung-chia
  12. Yeah, I believe there's only three. I tried all of them, and they all get the job done very well. Most of them went right? with the #1? Hmmm... Don't know what could've caused it. On a different note... Golds Factory has just introduced another line, the GF01A SUS303 and Fe. Just so pretty... Drool drool drool... The pictures have to wait a bit, as I am very lazy these couple of days... It's too cold to do anything around here in Toronto... Lung-chia
  13. Taylormade has a really cool video on their official website, showing how AGSI face insert is better getting the ball to roll. They tape the insert onto your own putter, and let you putt couple balls to see the difference. Someone showed up with a G-Field Leap... Very interesting video. Lung-chia
  14. Ok, after two weeks of testing, late night carpet putting, here's my little comparison test on some of the putters I have with inserts. Here are the contestants. -GF SS303 putter with PZ inserts (of course) -SC Studio Style Newport #2 (My Detour Newport #2, I think I will have it battle it out, head to head with my GF stealth PS#2. So, I asked a friend, see if he would lend me his spare S.S Newport#2... For a month~!!! Hehehe) -G-Field PZ#1 (Sold. So, can only base on my memory on how good it felt...) -TM Rossa RSI CGB Daytona (From TSG, of course.) -Odyssey Black Series #2 (The Non-Insert putter tester for comparison. My dad's putter in Toronto) Overall Design: Ok, I will exclude my SS303 from this category... 'cause it's the best... hehehe... I love my own design~ If I may... The designs of the rest of the group are pretty interesting: The SC Newport#2 has the vibration absorbing pad to... Absorb the vibrations... G-Field has the PZ insert to enhance the soft feeling and better roll. The TM Rossa has the Thermoplastic elastomer (Have no idea what the flying fork is that... but it sure sounds much better than the "Vibration Absorbing Pad"...), supposedly to give the pros even more softer feel than the AGSI inserts (Which, I think is much better than the RSI insert). The technology is there, designs are top-notch here. But do they really work? Hmmm... Keep reading. Looks: The GF takes the cake. Hands down, no questions. It just looks so much meatier than the other ones at address. You have it in your hand, it just oozes out confidence. The G-Field PZ#1 is second, it looks like a normal PZ#0 after steroid... With its angular bumper, it's so cool even for anyone who doesn't know anything about golf. 3rd will have to go to the SC, Scotty knows how a putter should look like. From address, the putter looks square, sharp, clean, no nothing to distract you. One pretty putter from address. Sound: My SS303 is the only one here with a sound slit, but I really like the way the Scotty sounds. The TM and the G-Field sounded dead. Especially the Taylormade, very VERY muted. Feel/Performance: Ok... Here's the shocker. After two weeks of playing around, I actually think the Odyssey Black performs better than my GF SS303 here. The Black Series feels soft (Strangely, this simple milled face feels softer than the SC and the G-Field... Don't know why... ???), and it rolls beautifully. The tungsten bumpers really WORKS, there's not twisting, no fussing, the ball just rolls straight. SO FORGIVING~ Really surprised on how well Odyessy did with their first non-insert putter. I wanted to use the Black Series as a bar-stick, to compare these putters with inserts... I guess this bar-stick turns out to be a great stick. And as of the GF SS303... First of all, let me explain that I am not the greatest putter in the world, therefore please forgive me with my lack of adjectives and knowledge on FEEL amd PERFORMANCE. But the only one word I can think of, from my tiny little brain, to explain this putter is: "Organic". The roll is the best out of all the above putters mentioned. If the Black Series is like a Mercedes S65, perfect in every aspect; the GF SS303 is like a Porsche 911 Turbo, with a manual gearbox~!!! It's forgiving, yet you will still have to pay attention, show your respect. It's just so fun putting with it, the roll is so true, it exposes your weakness, but because you feel so confident at address, it's a joy everytime putting with it. It's not as forgiving as the Black Series, but I think I become a better putter because of it. The SC, the G-Field and the TM, they are good, but I just don't feel they perform as good as the Black Series or the SS303. The Scotty has the worst roll in the group, and it's the harsh-est, this insert is garbage! BUT, my friend who also tried all these putters, said this SC putter is a great transition putter for those who are still not used to those insert putters. (I say, BOGUS! Who would want to own a 300dollars TRANSITION putter??? So, I win~ HAHA~!) The G-Field is like the middle child in the group. Not the most dominant, nor the prettiest. Its PZ insert, compares to the GF version, just lost its charm after a few putts. It feels dead, compare to the GF counterpart. It still rolls beautifully, but feels not connected. I blame it to the shaft, too. The TM is a nice putter, but nothing from it tells me it's any special than any others... Really REALLY surprised that a simple milled putter is so much forgiving and soft than the some of the putters with inserts that are supposed to enhance the delicate putting feel... The Odyssey Black Series is the winner here. Value: I know, I know... When I paid $1,500 for a putter, this "Value" factor is no longer valid, 'cause how can you compare to a personalized, custom putter to a off-the-rack retail putter? But, really, the GF-SS303 looks so awesome, perform so well, I truly think $1,500 is a bargain~ From a collector's point of view, the Golds Factory SS303 has everything one's asking for. But as a golfer, I gotta go with the Black Series, it just simply performs. For its price, it is the best out there. Conclusion: ...What conclusion? I am so torn now... It's not funny anymore... I wanted to save my SS303 in my office only, because it's so beautiful, but it out-performs my stealth PS#2... And the Black Series is treating me so well, I am actually thinking stealing it from my dad. But I am so used to the Blinker now... ...Tario, you gotta get yourself a GF putter! I can't be the only one suffering this... Lung-chia P.S Pictures will be added this weekend.
  15. The big G-mark looks so cool~ Droopy, I thought you said you were going to ask Sasaya-san to paint-filled the edges, and get the black cherry dot...?? No?? Too late?? That's too bad, I actually really want to see the black cherry dot in larger picture... But, still, welcome to the GF putter club. Review~ Review~ Lung-chia
  16. ...I don't have to have a better one, I don't have to have a better one... It's okay, it's okay... Man, this is jam-packed with goodies~ NICE~ Looking forward to the review from you. ...Jealous is a cruel mistress. Lung-chia
  17. Chris, will you kindly take pictures of both r7 Forged and the new r7 TP Forged side by side? I would like to know what Different shape that is. Thank you, Chris. Lung-chia
  18. That's gonna be nice. Droopy. I feel flattered~ The "Black Cherry Dot" seems like a small metal plate insert... Looks really cool with the beads boron finish. Where are the tungsten weights gonna be inserted? Face? Sole? Which finish are you going with? SS303? PS#1? #2? You will love it, I guarantee that. Don'r forget to post the close up pics~! LC
  19. Now, this is NICE~ Can I have another one??? PLEASE??? I need to go to Japan and pay Sasaya-san a visit, and have him to get me fitted with something... ...Come on~ this week's Lottery~ Lung-chia
  20. Please let us know your spec, and how it will look like. The wait is torture~ Trust me... Sasaya-san has done some pretty cool looking putters these couple of weeks... Wondering if they belong to one of the TSGers??? Lung-chia
  21. The sound slit is still working great. The ONLY, ONLY thing I am having a little trouble right now is that, around the insert, the edges between the face and the insert. It looks like it could use some paint-fill... The gap looks like it can collect some dirt or dust over time... Anyone know any great workshop in Toronto that can do this for me? Tario? Or should I send it back to Sasaya-san to do it for me??? OH, and my PZ#1, it's found itself a new owner two days after I decided to let it go... these things sell themselves~!!! LC
  22. Claus. Sorry that my trickery camera skills has made you think I am all spoiled with gold, and have a GOLD plated GF putter... It's the light... From my desk lamp... No Golden Beads Boron Finish... Sorry... Not on mine, at least. I am pretty sure Sasaya-san can work something out for you though. But according to Chris, Beads Boron IS the most durable finish provided. And most prettiest, IMO. Here's one without my trickery camera skills... Lung-chia
