Thinking about selling all my irons (6 sets) and getting the Kuros... Have the 2011 Onoff Forged. Comparison's needed.
Title says it all. Are the Kuros the best overall irons ever (feel, forgiveness, distance, accuracy, looks, etc)? I have the 2011 Onoff Forged and they feel sensational (soft sponge) with a lot of forgiveness and mega distance (strong lofts). Do the Kuros have that same soft sponge feel? What makes the Kuros better? I'm not interested in the VG3s or new Titleist MBs. I'm looking to get more serious about playing well and less serious about ho'ing so dialing down from 6 sets to 1 or 2 prob helps that. Suggestions, thoughts, etc? Thanks.

Best feeling Epon clubs ever...
What do you guys vote for? I've tried the 302s, Personals, and the a set I won in a photo contest on here prior to the 302 but pretty much identical (I forget the name). Out of these I vote for the 302 with a steel shaft. Didn't get along with personals and C-Tapers but I can't pass fair judgement there. I'm curious how the SUS316's rate as well as the Personal 2's, AF Tours new and old, etc. Lets here it!

Flo'ing high quality and very stiff shafts doesn't seem possible... Help.
No grip, just a standard vise with shaft adapters/holders from golfsmith. They seem perfectly fine. I clamp them pretty tight. The longer I tried to flo the tighter I clamped just do to frustration haha.

Great! Wish I were there too.

Really? Is that the problem? I didn't want to use too heavy of a weight with graphite shafts due to stress concerns but maybe I'll try this. I used a 205g weight and a 315g weight I think...

Word from Nippon on Modus System 125
Beats me. I still wonder if the "System" version is slightly different than the now N.American Tour 125 version because a lot of people on here swear the System 125 launch/spin low...

Word from Nippon on Modus System 125
Modus 3 120 TX I have in my onoff's are seemingly low spin, high launch in comparison... I tried the C-tapers in the Epon Personals once and absolutely hated the feel. Felt like steel pipe to me...

SPB's are fantastic. Have them in some Miura Giken 5003's and they're low/low are they not? They seem low-mid launch/low spin to me...

Word from Nippon on Modus System 125
Damn it I was told the 125's are C-taper like - low/low so I ordered them. Guess I'll still give them a whirl but I assume I'll be keeping my 120's in TX flex.

And here - http://nipponshaft.com/n-s-pro-modus³-tour125/ However maybe there is a difference between the Modus 3 "System Tour" 125 and the Modus 3 Tour 125... Anyone know?

Word from Nippon on Modus System 125
Saw this on wrx the other day. So I guess they are a mid/mid shaft. I know some on here claim they're low/low, comparable to the C-taper though. I ordered a set so I'll get them a whirl and see.

Seven CB
I finally shafted these up with TT Monacos in a 4 iron and UST Recoil Proto in a 7 iron. Hit them yesterday at the range (it was on a slight decline and very windy) but preliminary findings are good! Soft, but with pro feedback. Would not say these are a mid-high capper iron. They almost play like a slight cavity back (not much forgiveness towards the toe). Feel was great one some very pure strikes and very good on most. Doesn't have the Onoff, Epon Sponge feel I love but almost a invisible feel if that makes sense. You feel nothing when pured, which is awesome itself. Distance was good, workability seemed good. I like em. I'm going to shaft them up with a SPB, Modus 120 and 125 and if i can a MCI too. I also hit the 2011 Onoff forged along side them yesterday which are a much more forgiving high-low all around iron. Less workable but longer and spongier softer. I'll report more when I try them again. Oh and they look great at address! P.S. I also tipped my 125Rogue and installed it in the JBeam ZY-11 and it worked MUCH better. No more hooks. That thing is a super laser. If you need a low launch low spin wind destroyer I'm not sure there is anything more piercing. Egg 7 with Ahina was close, 435 with Crazy Black 50 was close but not as much so. The Maxima Type V with Ahina is great but higher launching and spins a bit more. This thing just cut through the wind like it wasn't there. Prob 25-30km/h winds too!

Shaft loose in hosel upon installation... Please help
Thanks, I used beads but it was still super loose. Oddly enough the 52 was snug, it was the 56 and 60 that were loose.... Man there are not enough standards in the golf club industry. Damn.

Flo'ing high quality and very stiff shafts doesn't seem possible... Help.
I've recently gotten into club building as I like to tinker, learn and have control over how my clubs look and play. Anyway, I bought what I need to find the spine (easy and works with every shaft I've tried) and Flo. However flo'ing the shafts that I use (x flex to tour xx flex) Modus 3, Recoil Protos, Monaco protos, Rogue 125, Diamana X, etc. I have literally spent 5 hours "flicking" these shafts and I cannot get them to flat line oscillate. I've literally rotated them 360* in tiny increments, flicking them a hundred times and every time, every shaft just wants to rotate counterclockwise (over the top). Oddly enough though, I took a Dynamic Gold S200 shaft that came with a wedge I bought and was able to get it to flat line oscillate fairly quickly. So does this mean very stiff shafts tend not to Flo easily or at all compared to a much softer flex shaft or (arguably) a lower quality shaft (doesn't really make sense)? Any idea why I might be having problems with this? P.S. I also noticed the "flick" is a major factor in how the shaft oscillates. Slightly low to high flick angle = more of a clockwise rotation. Slightly High to low flick angle = counterclockwise rotation. But again, I'm making sure I flick them on a dead neutral 180* plane, yet every time they want to rotate counterclockwise (right hand club). Thoughts. Help, anything. Appreciate it guys.

Shaft loose in hosel upon installation... Please help
I just installed some Modus 3 wedge shafts into my Vokey wedges. I sanded the tips lightly, used a medium amount of epoxy and then aligned them up but the shafts are very loose. If you pick them up with the shaft the head will spin around and point downward... that's how loose they fit. When I bought the Vokeys they came installed with DG S200 shafts and I measured the tips and they are the same size as the Modus 3 wedge shaft tips. Is this a normal occurrence or is something not right? Let me know your thoughts please. Thanks.

Modus 3 Tour 120 TX vs Modus 3 System 125 X
I spoke to Nippon today and they had this to say regarding the 120 vs 125 series: Hi I currently have a set of Modus 3 120 shafts in TX (tour x) flex. However I'm looking at purchasing the Modus System 3 125 shafts in X flex. I'm a big strong guy and swing very hard and aggressive. Which is the better choice for me? I've heard the System 125 is low spin/launch with better feel than the 120 series. Also I'm fine with TX in the 120 series so if I do decide to get the System 125 in X flex should I tip them an inch? Thanks for the help! Rob. Hello Rob, Thank you for your email. The N.S. PRO MODUS³ Tour 120 and N.S. PRO MODUS³ Tour 125 are different structures so it’s difficult to say which model would be “feel” or perform better. The N.S. PRO MODUS³ Tour 125 is designed for a mid launch, mid spin and mid trajectory, slightly higher than the Tour 120. We do not recommend tip cutting so we suggest hardstepping, use the 37” (wedge length) for wedges and 9 irons and move up to use the 40.0” in the 3 iron. Please contact us for any additional questions. So this is getting confusing. According to Nippon the 125 is mid/mid and not low/low... Thoughts anyone?

Modus 3 Tour 120 TX vs Modus 3 System 125 X
Great to know! Thanks guys! How's the feel? I'm thinking about matching these with Seven (s15c) irons so I want something that gives me the best feeling possible for them. Thoughts?

Modus 3 Tour 120 TX vs Modus 3 System 125 X
I currently have the Tour 120 in TX (Tour X flex) and they are extremely stable, straight, high, long, mid/low spin with decent feel. However I'm thinking about getting the Modus 3 System 125 in X flex (they don't offer TX) to put in my Seven irons, but I'm concerned they might be too soft and I'm not sure if tipping them is a good idea. Has anyone played the 120 and the system 125? What differences are there in terms of accuracy, spin, trajectory, feel, etc. Would I be better sticking with the 120 in TX or switching to the System 125 in X (with possibly tipping them)? I'd email Nippon Japan and ask them but I don't speak Japanese and the US site doesn't have the System 125 on there. Thanks for the help!
