I'm due for a driver and I'm interested in testing out the Epon EMB. Anyone in the San Francisco area with one and willing to let me try it out? Tough to pull the trigger on an $800 club without trying it out first. Cheers.

Any truth to Yururi introducing a new driver sometime soon?

The Yururi black raws shafted in AeroTech i125 with a nice grip has been awesome for me. Kicked my KZGs out of the bag.
  4. Did a review get posted somewhere yet? Just curious. Also, any chance to get the head weights? Thanks for the pics to compare against the Miuras.
  5. TourSpecGolfer, Great. Thanks. I was hoping to also find out about the head weights as well. Do you happen to have those?
  6. Been waiting for these to come around. Saw 'em on that UK site as well. The question I have is are these chrome or satin? Tough to tell from the pics. Looks like chrome to me. Also, need the specs. If satin and specs meet my needs ... I'm ready to pull the trigger on these. Been holding back on getting the raw flat backs because of the possible long term wear concern. Have a couple of the raw wedges shafted to Aerotech i125's and just couldn't be any happier right now. Just fantastic feel. Please give us some of the info on the specs! Best.
  7. Ditto. Can anyone offer comparisons from having played the Yururi Flat Back Raw blades and these new MB-5003's? Also, I'm surprised no one's mentioned or hinted to split set or combo set. Say PW-6i with blades and 5i-2i in cb's or hybrids.
  8. Pulled the trigger on a couple of those wedges to test out. Heads only. I'll shaft these up to some AeroTech Steelfibers i125. Looking forward to these.
  9. Good to know. One last question... For these do you think it would be a fair test to try out one of these wedges in order to make up my mind about the blades? In other words, would the wedge give me a good enough idea of what to expect from the blade version? Again, thanks for the help.
  10. Hi gocchin, Noticed in the Pro Shop these show in 56 degree loft but the detail breakout description with yardages doesn't list the 56. Are the pics and chart just specific to the odd lofts they have available? Thanks for the feedback.
  11. Hi Keen, What's the latest on these? With some course time in, do you still feel the same? Or is the honeymoon phase over? Thanks for the feedback.

Chris, Maybe give Leith Anderson and/or Bob Huff at the Golf Lab in Palo Alto a call. Plenty of articles in GolfTodayMagazine.com Not sure if they're on this forum but they swear by the SST PUREing. Not sure if Hot Stix uses this or not. Might be worth checking in with them as well. The various tours use the system. Why would they bother if they didn't notice a difference? I think it doesn't hurt and is probably more beneficial on softer shafts. Especially graphite.
  13. I wouldn't forget the new Miura CB-1006's. Sure sound like what you're looking for. Thin topline and sole. Sharp edge. Little to no offset. Cavity back forgiveness. Good shape and design. They're very tempting.
  14. Anyone try with AeroTech SteelFibers to compare?
  15. I guess the question is ... do you prefer to fly or roll it? My experience says rolling it is the percentage way to go. Out of curiosity, how deep faced is this Epon 3W? I don't care for deep faced 3W unless it's sort of a backup tee ball wood. Love, love my Sonartec SS-07. Fuji Tour Platform is great. Also, I absolutely love the look of the Yururi Raw wedge look. How do those play and how is the finish looking like now? What kind of shaft are you using those with?
  16. Whatever you do ... do yourself a favor and try the AeroTech Steelfibers before deciding. Fantastic iron shaft in my opinion for the money and results. I'm about to replace my trusty Fuji Vista Pro's with these and that's after having tried the Rifle Project X's and Nippons. The best of both worlds really with graphite AND steel combining for a great shaft.
  17. Thanks TourSpecGolfer. Very helpful. Especially the shootout feedback. What kinds of shafts were tested by the way? Also ... just me but it's a real shame they don't do these in a satin finish. Otherwise, very nice indeed. Really did the Yururi Raw Flat Back look though. Killer...
  18. TourSpecGolfer, I know this is a CB, but how do these compare to the Yururi Raw Flat Back blades you said were the softest blades you had ever tried?
  19. I only see 56 and 61 available in the shop. Did this change? Would love to get a gap wedge. These look sweet.
  20. TourSpecGolfer, Did these kick out the Type J's from the bag? Wondering if anyone feels the same here. These really are stunning. Looks like a samurai blade ready for going to war Sweet looking that's for sure. I'd probably shaft these up with AeroTechs.

KZG probably one of them. At least in the past. Got the KZG Forged CB-IIM from 2001 and believe they come from Kyoei.
  22. Looking for some input on what folks think would be the better japanese iron choices out there for links golf. These would be used for trips to the links in Ireland / Scotland. Maybe even Australia's sandbelt. So we're talking about tough turf conditions ... border line hard pan but not quite obviously. Specifics wise ... they need: - Low to no offset - Low to no bounce - Sharp edge - Thin topline - Feel great and sound great (duh!) - I know this sounds like blades but ... looking for CB, but ok with combo. Concerned about going with blades. About me: - Handicap around 15 these days (very poor putter) was under 10 last year - Swingspeed with 6 iron around 85 - Playing with KZG Forged CB-IIM set to VP 90 and SST PURED - Flex a 5.5 on PCS I'm told - Standard length and lie - Swingweight not sure. So far from looking at the board forum, it looks like the Miura CB-201 or CB-1006 might fit the bill. Not too soft which could require repeated loft / lie adjustments. The Epon J's and S's look good but wondering if they're too soft for the links. Gauge Design MB-2 ... too late + the topline and thick sole aren't really appealing. Beauties though. The new Miura CB-202's have more bounce so they're out. Probably great for U.S. soft conditions. Chris already suggested a mid CB as opposed to a compact CB given my current handicap. I'm also looking for an iron that will have a better tendency to keep the all down (e.g. higher not lower CG). Even if I'm not hitting 3/4 knockdowns all day. Shaft wise, I like graphite but not against steel again. The AeroTech SteelFibers might be the best of both worlds. Will probably tip the shafts to keep the ball down too. Any iron suggestions to go with this shaft? So let me know if you have any recommendations out there. Cheers
