  1. But, you need a swingweight scale to measure and determine which feel you like. Have your favorite feeling club measured and set from that club your desired SW from the list above to your other clubs. Keep in mind the standard grip is 50 grams, so to raise 2 SW go with a Golf Pride Dual Durometer Lite or Winn soft wrap. (both weight in about 40 grams)
  2. The 2008 amendments will now include irons for limitations on spring like affect. Will any J Spec irons non conform. I have the Type X Epons and love them....
  3. Any thoughts of the pros and cons of flat line frequency parallel shafts versus the standard stepped taper shafts. I wonder why the whole world doesn't go to one or the other if one is clearly superior. I would think the same frequency would make some of the clubs too soft and some too stiff in a set.
  4. Are the Geotech irons, the same blanks as Scratch orders from the Moz Ishihara foundry? If so these component heads are a true bargain for value.
  5. The Golds factory are excellent. I always look at blades as the ultimate "game improvement" iron for the player willing to practice and striving to improve. Really not much difference, in my opinion, between a players cavity back like the Epon J and a true blade, except the confidence the CB may instill in the head. Irrational maybe, but mental is 90 percent of the game.
  6. Have you got a picture of the EK model? Are they all the soft 1018 steel used in the AR1?
  7. The face insert looks great, but it is expensive at $472 extra. Does it affect play and feel much and if so, how? Looks like most putters from the pics do not have this option.

Rather than focus on your hcp, pick your iron design on where you want to go or improve. The player's cavity like the 201 or 202 is really a "game improvement" club in that its feedback allows you to learn to hit the ball better.
  9. Are the standard specs okay for most people? I think the putters are 5 degrees in loft instead of the usual Scotty 4 and half a degree different on the lie. Are the offsets, if any, the same? To me, I would think the differences are too small and not worth changing. But, I don't know.
  10. Hi everyone. What is the difference between the stock 1 and the stock 2 putters? Hard to tell from the photos. What is a SUS303 Blinker and installation? Where and what is the "slit line?" Thanks for your help. Bob
  11. I would be careful on the flex with the 950 or less. I swing about the same as him and the R flex is too soft for me in the Nippon. I think if you are a R in a 130 gram shaft, it is wise to "test drive" the S in a lightweight steel or graphite shaft. The results may surprise you with the increased swing speed requiring the S.
  12. I just ordered a set from TSG. So, I will let you know shortly.
  13. Are any of the Japanese drivers weighted to play shorter shafts of 44.5 or 44 with a D0 SW or so, or do they need to be weighted. Most US spec heads are 195 grams and designed to play a 45.5 shaft, so cutting them requires alot of weighting. The US pros somehow have special heads built to 216 grams or so allowing shafts of 44.5 inches.
  14. How would the blades byFourteen comapre with Gold's flat backs. They are priced about the same. Just another question as I too am looking for a blade.
  15. What are the changes/improvements of the 301 over the Type J, it replaced. I see the stylistic changes but is the engineering or design different?
  16. The cavity looks a little "busy" to me also. But the proofs in the hitting.
  17. I would like your feedback on the Miura blade versus the Gold's Factory Blade. Thanks
  18. Congrats to the winners! Enjoy the clubs.
  19. Hi, I am new to the forum and looking to get some information on these these irons how they play and compare. Any user comments? Thank you.
  20. Whats the reason to use "conventional spine/flo methods, if the shafts are of such high quality they do not need aligning?
  21. Might be smart to also see if there is a golf bio mechanics person in your area to see if your swing contributed to the tendon failure or aggravates the area. Perhaps some swing changes or specific streching and strenghening can prevent future pain or injury. I play after having the supraspinas reattached on both sides. I do know once the biceps is reattached it is lower on the arm and the offending portion in the groove is gone, so it may not even be an issue for you once you are fully healed. My partner had the same surgery and returned to tennis in due course without followup or therapy following the surgery. Good luck.
  22. The Honmas were reshafted with Rifles when I got them never really hit the Nippons which came in them so have no experience there.
  23. I am looking to purchase new irons here. I presently play the Rifle 5.0 but am looking at the Nippons. Have no trouble getting airbourne ans can hit the 6 iron 165. Any ideas for me on weight and flex. I have heard the Nippons play soft to flex, especially the 1050s. Thanks
