  1. I dunno my 301s w/1150s are pretty much a perfect match for me. Moreover my 301s w/1150s are way more forgiving than my mp60s w/s300s. As far as harsh.... never been harsh for me, MP60s are WAY harsher w/DGs300s, dunno maybe it could have been the shaft, cuz 1150s are pretty darn smooth. I have owned TMracs(miuras), R7TPs, R7 forged, Mizuno 37s 32s amd 60s, titleist 680cbs 695mbs. (some friends of mine play snake eye blades, callaway big berthas, etc.... they say "JDM is to expensive") IMO none of these clubs compare my epons. LOL in fact, I'll come right out and say it, "I literally think snake eyes are cheapo knock offs that anyone can buy." Not saying they suck... but I wouldn't buy them. I don't think it is even fair that TG compared the 301 to a snake eye club. lol Its like comparing a VW beetle to a 911turbo. Hands down Epon goes in my bag. All my other sets except the R7 forged, have been sold. 2.5/5 is really odd for epon
  2. Little over 2 months ago I purchased my first set of wedges w/Graphite Design's TourAD 75 stiff. I got them fitted from epon w/the 208 wedges. After my first 3 weeks I was kinda disappointed at my results on course as my scores went down. I thought my short game consistency went out the window w/these wedges. They felt good, but just off. I usually play my wedges set at a D4.5 w/x100s or Black Golds. (I've always read that your wedges should be heavy enough to go through the ground) Now going on week 8 w/the graphite wedges and my short game has finally come back around.... I guess it took some time getting acquainted w/the feel. Benefits I've gained from switching: Scoring=same Trajectory= a much higher trajectory w/more spin, prolly due to the shaft. Ball stops on a pinpoint no matter what. Even w/the 52 degree, its either a high dead shot or a floating spinner that will pull back about 5 feet. Feel= (most important for me I am a feel player w/my wedges) My friends say it feels hollow, ligher, kinda like a girls club. LOL For me it took some time to get used to the different feel.... However; I can definatly feel the ball make contact w/the clubhead. Tempo is not sacrificed w/these shafts... Fantastic on obsorbing the shock. I find myself taking shallow clean diviots w/this head, graphite shaft makes it feel soooo smoooooth. (thinking of ad95s or the axivs around the 95 100 weight) Accuracy= This is where during the first 3 weeks I was anywhere from 20 - 30 yrds off to the left. I think for me it was the weight of the wedge which allowed me to swing alittle faster and close the clubface more. Distance= All Positive yards here, as expected when going from heavier to lighter. Look= I like looking down at steel. It takes time getting used to holding a fishing pole. (I think all GD shafts look like fishing poles,....> not to say I don't like them) Complete club at address is pleasent, w/the black shaft. The black shaft adds confidence to my game, knowing I fire away at the yardage, and the ball will stop on the time. Around the greens=The OMG factor is at a 10 for me on this one! 30 yrds and in the ad75 and 208 combo is a killer for me. So easy to get under the ball and control the flight w/spin. Thick rough=really none in hawaii, but I've played in some think stuff and havn't really had a problem getting the ball out. Overall the Shaft response where it counts is great. Sand=LOL I don't play my epons in the sand. I use my Clevelands for the sand. Spin=too much sometimes. But I thnk that spin equates out to control; more spin more control. I have a hard time playing a pitch and roll because of my swing... I can play it about 4out of 10 times... due to my in accuracy w/that aspect of the wedge game, I usually play a low bitter or a high dead shot, and that is really easy to do w/the 208s as they produce alot of spin w/the ad75 setup. After playing this wedge and seeing its true colors I even think it spins more than my Tour Seidas and my yamaha wedges. Most importantly, the shock is not there on the slight off hit, and due to the weight of the club, I feel alot more "in control" of the ball. And my confidence has gone up from 110 in. Don't likes: After the past 2 months w/this wedge setup, I don't think I have any complaints other than my friends ragging me for going to graphite.
  3. I have the 05 Marus, and I love them.

quite literally TSG is the only place you can order EPON in the USA? I love the fact that if you order a new EPON club or set, it comes w/the Epon factory letters stating specs and verification of order of clubs delivered. I buy all my epon clubs new fitted for me directly from epon via TSG.
  5. I too would like to inquiry about this subject... TSG? where does Honma stand on your scale of class. Every single time I buy new clubs my friends ask me if its Honmas... I say "no Epons", they're like, "oh I don't know what that is," or "never heard of it".
  6. Kudos on the review, BG shafts are great w/the epons also. I got my 301s w/1150gh stiff, Randy let me know if you want to try to hit them, we can meet at the driving range. I also have R7 forged w/950gh stiff. I enjoy playin these two sets because of the look at feel. This season I'm going w/the heavier shafts and epons, to see the difference from the 98g shafts w/the r7 heads.
  7. Thx for the pics R, I love the Technicas!
  8. When can we expect to see the FWs in the proshop? When can we place orders?
  9. I think so, you are right spoon Says forged by miura in the proshop
  10. Hey Randy, Great post and can't wait to hear the results as I'm very interested. I want to see pics of the Epons!!
  11. Yea the distance thing is a problem for me. Hence, my lack there of long irons. I used to use a TM RAC set I bought off the shelf when they dropped last year to 399.99. That head IMHO is harder to hit that an MP60, its soooo fat and frames the ball tooooo much. Anyway, on good shots the 3 iron w/stock shaft would go about 240-250 and worse I couldn't control the hook w/my release. I don't play that much tournys so I just left the "inaccurate" 2, 3, and 4 irons out of the bag. The 5 iron is prolly my longest iron and I can still hit a pfade for a good 190 - 200. Carrying 210 is a high draw for me. But the newest and most exciting addition to my bag is the Zoom 3 utility 220i 20* shafted and pured w/Tour AD 85. The long par threes, though few on oahu, (+200) are easy w/this club. What w/the trade winds, the zoom has brought a nice shot to my bag; the knockdown. To reach 200 w/my 5 iron into the wind is very hard. My 200 shot w/5 is a sky draw, hitting that into the wind here would be like 160-170. This is where the 220i 3 comes in. Stingers and knockdowns are all this club sees on the long par 3s. The coolest thing is how the ball stops on the green after hitting that low shot, one bounce and the ball sits. I could never do this w/my normal 3 iron. The long game is still my worst aspect, I'm still tryin to figure it out... I'll prolly be working on this for the rest of my life for that matter. lol I ultimate goal is to sky my old ben hogan apex 1 iron on to a green from a long approach.

Same opinion here, at address the red kinda fazes out to a nice shape on the head. It is also more the shape of the head that strikes me.
  13. MD7 is worth buying! Buy it just to replace the stock shaft! Buy it alone just to look at the nice fishing pole graphics!! You won't be disappointed w/the MD7 it rox hard for me. Good for the hard swinger too, anti left shaft for me. I can go at it w/the MD7 and just smooth straight "piercing" shots, no duck hooks.
  14. Same here, MD7 is my anti-left side gun. I can release the heck out of this guy and I just get pure straight bullets.(101 is easy to maneuver) My Rombax 7x07 w/technity460 feels good, it reacts different at higher ss than the MD7. But the rombax is just as smooth, only about 5 yards shorter for me. The major difference for me is the penetrating/piercing ball flight I get from the MD7, it really shines in the wind (hawaii player) plenty trade winds year around. My rombax floats up there and isn't as "attractive" as the MD7s ball flight. o_O I honestly want to buy the Pink Rombax 7x07. That is next on my list!! Go Buba!! (though I don't know what shaft he uses, I know its pink) WOOT!!
  15. That sux arse for Srixon US customers.
  16. Appreciate the compliments guys. Just got my new SC putter in today, so I decided to take more pics. Here is the backup bag which I have been kinda using every now and then; R7 forged irons and 208 kgx wedges satin w/Tour ad 75s and the Technity 460 driver w/the rombax shaft My other bag; Mizuno MP-60s w/1150s 4-pw and 3 iron MP-57 1150s Ima wedge guy these are my JDM wedges; 208 kgxs shafted w/the 1150s; the 208satins are up w/in the R7 forged bag shafted w/Tour ad-75s. (top pic is w/out flash and bottom is w/flash) TR wedge black gold x Yamahas 52 58 950s this is just a pic of the 52 new I have seida tour wedges 56 bent to 55 and a custom 60. Both w/Black gold stiff (Pic is of the 60's face mill which Tourspecgolfer had done for me) I believe the normal mill is only a single pass w/almost no mill on the score line area of the face. Tourstage Xwedges 53 59 shafted w/ x100 stiff 06 version. Personally, these are my favorite wedges ever; I feels creamy when I go through the ground, the ball really spins on this wedge, more than any of my wedges. (More than my Seida Tour) The feel, design and finish all suite my wedge eye. I rarely use them because I don't have a spare set, so this set is like my Turtlebay/Midpac wedge set as they only get played on the resort conditions. I wish I'd bought a spare set when TSG had them on sale. Miura I have many Miura wedge sets, but I choose not to play them anymore, as I enjoy playing my new wedges. Shafts; I play graphite in all the woods, I used to play steel, but the change to GD has been toooo positive. I've had the Romabx 7x07 (460ZR) Roddio 6ba (TS GR 460) GD YS7 (superquad) GD T AD QT (460ZR) GD T AD MD 7(AF101) Diamana Black (TS 445) Diamana White (460 Craft) GD T AD85 (zoom utility) GD AD 75s (208s) Fuji 757x (Titleist 905r) If there aren't pics of the driver that means I sold it or a friend is using it. In the irons I play all steel; NS 1150GH tour stiff in the epon 301s and the MP60s, while the 950s stiff are in the R7 forged. I'm playing the heavier 1150s this season. Lastly putter just came in today SC at 33" custom 4.5 loft w/70 lie I'm not planning on buying a utility, cause the 2 year old cobra has gotten me many birdie and eagle opportunities I just can't see taking it out of the bag. I never really go higher than a 5 iron for par 3s as my 5 iron carry is around 210; here in hawaii, there aren't many long par 3s. But I wanted to try out that zoom w/a GD shaft. I picked up a 3driving 220i and ordered a tour ad85 shaft and I've been able to hit the knock down shot w/ease on the 200+ par3s. Great shot addition to the bag. I'm currently using a Titleist 906f4 15.5 w/the a ys FW. I'll prolly wait till the George spirits line FWs are released to p/u a JDM 3 wood, if not a technity. Thanks for looking
  17. Thanks for the beautiful pics Bogey!! Thats my kinda golf course!!!(no trees)
  18. Black is nice, though I really wanted Tourspec golfers' model (satin looking) This one fell into my lap, right when that one was sold. I can't argue w/the black, its really striking.
  19. Just got mine in. I've always loved the circa 62 #3's design. Bett really did a nice job on this one. Clean lines and nice floe. If only Golds Factory made a putter design like this.... I'd be #1 on that waiting list.

  21. I agree, w/the added distance, I don't need to hit that draw anymore. I'm out driving my 460 w/power fades. Hitting more fairways the AF101 w/the MD7 has been a great addition to the bag; and I must say it has amazing ball speed. I swear this thing is a cannon. I get up to 165 ball speed.
  22. I really like the GS name on the clubs now. So simple and elegant, and you can clearly see the quality. =) I too am interested in the pricing of this line.
  23. Wow that is a beauty!! Congrats on that stick plus1!!
  24. They look stealthy. Very nice 301s
  25. Discovering EPON, is like discovering JDM clubs. "a whole new world"
