  1. Right now, based on that description. I think simple is the most elegant and would have to say the Epon Personal 2nd edition... I believe it is only 4-P no other option. Also depends on whether a set is available somewhere...
  2. We need an artist's rendering. Quick where is Supo...?

  4. Never played the shaft but compared to the Crazy 435(the one I got from the PI) and Epon Zero the Maxima launches higher. At least my 9.5 did by a wide margin, on natural swings...
  5. Maxima is a high launch head so unless you're building with a super low launch shaft you should be fine...
  6. I tend to do the opposite, assuming a skilled builder. Centering the reamer in the hosel is fairly easy to do and you are removing negligible amounts of material that you don't have to worry about the fragility of the steel. Also look at mfg like Miura, who intentionally leave excess material in the hosel expecting the fitter/builder to remove it prior to assembly...
  7. I have a set 3-p and 3 for wedges, 125 F5 with the longer irons at F4 tipped to about X. Also a set of the prototype to the Recoil Prototypes, similar setup but longer irons are 110g and hard stepped and tipped.
  8. I have switched to the SX flex in general from X, some brands still play an X. In Crazy shafts I play a 7.7 in the driver and still have a couple of 8.2 in some FWs. I find them just right on the flex scale. Quadra, are similar the 75SX is a good fit for me and have a similar SS to you. My tempo is more fluid with a smooth transition. If you have an aggressive transition I could see it needing to be stiffer. If you already have it bought, paid for and built give it a crack as much of this stuff is subjective. I am not trying to scare you as I know that FEX 75X came from me, but it seems a wide range of flexes and profiles in your list. That is a good thing to do when you are learning what you like, so take my comments with an appropriate number if salt grains...
  9. Never hit the 425, but did not like the 435's feel, sound, or performance. Tried many things including weights and shafts. None made the 435 perform for me with any kind of consistency across several rounds. The Zero on the other hand feels great and has a nice sound to it. Also can get many good consecutive driving rounds with an occasional erratic performance. Completely swing driven though. If you want Zero like performance, sound and feel that is a little more forgiving I would encourage you to track down a Yam V203 Tour...
  10. Surprised to see a Crazy 7.4 considering the two Quadra X flex. I have found the Quadra to be minimally equivalent to an 8 on the Crazy scale. Am curious to hear how controllable the Modart is comparatively.
  11. Wow, surprised you find the 103 too low, but are hanging on to the Zero. That would seem backward to me. I would agree with Nob that the Quadra in X for the driver shafts is a larger jump in stoutness from SX or S compared to other brands. Cannot comment on the Waccine. I very much enjoy all of my Quadra driver shafts in 75 SX, none are hook machines but can move them various directions and control trajectory. Think the biggest difference between Proto, Original and WBQ is how you feel the loading and unloading. Trajectory is more about head shaft pairing than specific shaft design, even though I know they tune the kick points...
  12. My mistake on the SUS vs S25 but the CNC vs "forged" is from Tario's intro to the brand... http://forum.tourspecgolf.com/topic/36253-model-art-introducing-modart/?hl=modart#entry221131 Each head is CNC'd from a block vs forged, or something to that end...
  13. Any more detail or early pic of prototype? Am assuming these are CNC'd SUS like the CBs? What kind of options if any on customization?
  14. Agree with the misbehaving primate. Shafted mine with a Roddio S7 S tipped to play SX. Great performer off the tee and deck. Also it is a marvelous compliment to the F358 5wd.
  15. They were great when I used them. Last steel shaft I played before shifting to graphite.
  16. I'm having Seven Dreams about Modart blades... If I could only win the lottery...
  17. Show me the blade... That is pretty though...
  18. Can we separate the discussion a tad... Heaviest head you can swing is a different argument than the lightest shaft. In my humble opinion as neither a scientist, nor consistent golfer, nor moderately intelligent person the amount of mass from the shaft tip contributing to the overall mass of thing making contact with the ball is negligible. Put a rock on a string, swing it around like a lasso and hit a ball flush, I would argue the same rock attached to a heavier string hitting a ball flush at the same velocity from earlier will yield very comparable distance. Changing the weight of the rock by the same amount of weight change of the string, on the other hand, will have a larger impact on overall distance. I believe that to be true because the weight of the string is distributed across the entire length whereas the weight of the rock is concentrated in the impact area. Taking the lightest club(head and shaft combined) won't really work, while you might be able to swing it faster, I don't think the ratios work out in that my SS will cap out before I can offset the lightness of the head. Also with the human element, my timing is gonna be thrown to hell. Similarly, taking the heaviest club, eventually I won't be able to generate any rotational speed... All that said, I think you are both right... The lightest shaft paired with the heaviest head you can swing will probably yield the best distance...
  19. I have an ONOFF Type S, head only.
  20. Sounds like a fun experiment. Good luck, hope it works out. Out of curiosity are there any color shafts besides black from Seven Dreamers?
  21. Very nice, very wrong... Performance and resolution should be interesting to read.
  22. Scary what stupid tidbits come back to haunt us...
