  1. Oddly enough and thankfully I only do it on the range. Went through a fitting once and couldn't hit the ball of anything but the hosel. The fitter thought I was lying about my index. Went the next morning with him and played 2 over through 18, he was dumbfounded... They are about 20 grams. Went from NS SP Blue to 108 gram shafts, so the total weight is not an issue for me. In the Crazy shafts, I had to get them to make some custom ones because the shaft wall on X flex graphite is thicker reducing the interior diameter so much the standard weights didn't fit. It took about 6 months for them to build a set for me. Will find out soon if I need another custom set or if POTS will work.
  2. I was pleasantly surprised to get them today. Shafts feel good, maybe a tad loose, but I have only hit a handful of balls with them, so we'll see how it develops. Some of it could be swing weight related as I had them set at D4. I will be playing with some balance certified weights to add some extra grip side weight. That will offset the swing weight and, as Robbie pointed out my heel side contact, help me get the shaft into the slot better. Am amazed by the Jumbo Stickys. They are really helping to keep the grip on the lighter side. Will see how it goes in a round as I play gloveless, but for now am duly impressed... On the ball flight side, I am resolved that no matter what I do, i will have a fairly high ball flight. Long irons(5-6 anyway) have a good trajectory and seem to apex and plummet as opposed arc which I like. 7 and down is stable but mid to high, very much an arc. At this point I am only going based on first impressions so will see what comes. It might be as easy as positioning the ball a little farther back in my stance or maybe shortening them on the butt side see if that stiffens them up a little and reduces the carry. Just have to tinker, hopefully if I do shorten I can get the grips off so I can reuse them. As opposed to the Gripmaster leather I ordinarily use, which can only be removed by cutting them off... So far am happy with them. Thanks Carlo, I have been using graphite in the irons since I got the TS last year. I like the vibration absorption they provide while still allowing for good communication on contact quality. I grew up playing lots of tennis so have periodic bouts of "tennis elbow" also in my wrists and shoulders. When I am not on the road for work and it is in season I play every morning, ~2 hrs for 18 holes. So the constant battering of my joints started to exacerbate the tendonitis, the switch to graphite was to combat that. As much as they add expense to the cost of the clubs, I won't go back to steel. As to loft of the PW, it is whatever they made it, 47* by the spec sheet. But to their spec I play 3/4" long in the shaft, 38.5" 5 iron so that will have something to do with it. According to the PRGR Red Eyes I was getting SS of about 90mph with the PW...
  3. I add some balance certified weights into the grip on the TS and it really helped...
  4. Cut me some slack, first time with a new shaft/head/grip combo... First few were, but after a brief adjustment most were right on the sweet spot. Note to self, make sure to clean club heads before posting any more photos...
  5. Just received a set of RomaRo Pro forged blades shafted with the UST Mamiya Tour Attas 110 in X flex and gripped using Iomic Jumbo Sticky.... Only hit a quick range session today, probably the same for tomorrow. Sadly nothing on course till next weekend... Brief impression: Very nice blades, beautiful to look at. Not too small and only slightly bigger than Miura's Baby Blade and comparable to the Tourstage X-Blade 905 MB(lest Stew get confused with the CB) Fairly soft feel, almost on par with a pured Miura and definitely softer than the TS. Distance is farther than either the Miura or TS. Getting the PW about 150yds. Not a completely fair comparison as the BB are shafted with NS SP Blue and the TS are a slightly too stiff Crazy CB 02. I will be fine tuning the TS soon so will be able to better compare distances then. Also the distance leaves me in a lurch to find new wedges since I have a gap down to my 52* at 125.
  6. just received a new set of the RomaRo Pro forged irons and giured I would give a quick pictorial comparing a couple of other compact blades... Where not obvious order is RomaRo, Tour Stage Miura(Left to Right) First the pitching wedges Now the 5-iron
  7. I saw that with the Chikara wedges I have. Many of the greens on my home course are sloped uphill front to back. So with a wedge with too much back spin I had a hard time keeping the ball on the green. With the current Maruman KS Zero I am using, not enough spin is getting generated. I have gotten used to that and adjusted flights/distance accordingly but would like to get back to being able to stop the ball from 125 yds and in.
  8. The 905 X-Blade had a cavity back and a muscle back model...
  9. Well done... Looking forward to more detail... What did you shaft them with?
  10. Welcome Sir... Looking forward to reviews and commentary...
  11. I have the Crazy CBI Evo 2 on a set of TourStage 905 MB and Fuji Rombax 115i attached to some Miura baby blades. Am expecting the RomaRo Pro MB using the UST Mamiya Attas Tours in the not too distant future as well. Had a couple of mis**ts while warming up, didn't make a normal swing and skulled the ball pretty bad. It was in the mid 40s F* and had I done that with the NS SP Blue, KBS Tours or even the NSPro 950 it would have taken several minutes for the pain to leave my hands in each case. Glad I made the switch, elbows and shoulders primarily but the hands thank me too...
  12. Is the Raw conforming or is it only the Tour that has an option?
  13. Personally, I like the feel of high end graphite shafts... Don't think I have lost any of the "feel" of steel with the exception of bad vibrations on miss hit shots. Good clean contact still feels as pure, have no problem getting "where on the face" I hit the ball, etc... I am a convert...
  14. Can anyone describe the differences between the Yururi Tour and Raw wedges? Need to get a set of wedges and think I have come down to these two but not sure what the differences are, besides the loft options...
  15. Why did you have to go with stiff shafts in these when most of your other stuff is X flex? Would have snapped up the two I-8s earlier if they were X...
  16. Agreed, great looking set of sticks. Almost got the flat backs recently myself but opted for the RomaRo blades instead. The GM grips are great and have them on most of my clubs, but I agree that the stitch backs are hard to get lined up straight so went back to the tour wraps... Enjoy the new clubs and be prepared for a thinner wallet...
  17. Gave the Aerotechs a try last year before landing on the Crazy iron shafts. Came in third behind the Fuji Rombax 115i and the Crazy... Nice stable feel, smooth swinger, very well made...

    They rock...
  19. My concern is that the RC is a significantly different club than the OnOff. Since I need to purchase the shaft either way am hoping to make the right choice from the start.
  20. I have been using the GD EV7x in a pair if OnOff ProSpec utility clubs and have been enamored with the success. Pick up an RC 17* hybrid and am trying to figure out what to shaft it with. Do I continue using what has worked in the GD EV series or should I try something like the Crazy Utility shaft? Thanks for your thoughts, RIDuffer
  21. The ONOFF UT is a winner, solid feel and would probably match up with the irons very well...
  22. Gaming the 905 MB now with the Crazy CB I Evolution X flex and have gamed the MIura Baby Blade(before they became the 1957 model) for a couple of years prior to getting the TS. The TS are a great gamer just considering a try with something else. Want to keep with a smaller head and soft feel. Would agree with Chris that the TS play firm, but do not think they are any more difficult to make good contact with than the Miura. Also, Stew had it spot on that the 950s are a little loose of a shaft... Thinking the Kenmochi with a Roddio shaft might be the way to go... Is it a simialr head size to the TS? What are the Geotech's that are S15C?
  23. You have any pictures/info on the Roma Ro? Is the Kenmochi different than the model that just hit the store?
  24. Trying to a head size comparison and softness ranking of the Epon AF Tour, TourStage 905MB and the Miura baby blade...
  25. For the adjustable face and lie angle, is that just for the drivers or true for the utility clubs as well? If the S-Type doesn't require the hosel piece, is it still similarly adjustable? Also, is that a new ONOFF iron in the gallery? The one with the "Deep Flow Gravity" stamp on the back... That a GI iron? Lastly, looking forward to the RC stuff. trying to figure out my next iron set as the honeymoon with the TS 905MBs has ended... Great job on the coverage so far guys... Thanks...
